I confess that I don’t understand phones at all, I wanted a bigger screen, a better camera and ... that’s all.
I'm probably a completely dark person, but I only need a phone to call and take pictures))) I don't even go online from my phone, there is enough computer.
Well, in general, I outlined everything that I described here to the sales assistant, and he offered me this phone Alcatel van touch pixie 3. He said that in this price category this is the best model. Before that, I had a Samsung, and I started looking at Samsungs within 5 thousand rubles.
But the seller strongly offered me this smartphone again.

The camera is still stupid (or my hands are like that)! When I want to take a photo and I press the button on the sensor, I never get one photo, there are 3, 5, 9, but always more than one. For some reason, such nonsense will turn out!

Otherwise, there are no complaints yet, the phone does not slow down, the speakers do not hiss, the charge holds well, I liked that there is a stopwatch and a countdown. Excellent for such a price!

Alcatel PIXI 3 (4.5) is a compact model with a 4.5-inch screen, the smartphone feels very thick. Phone dimensions - 132 × 65 × 11.9 mm, weight - 151 grams, quite comparable to Lenovo A328. It is noteworthy that the weight of 125 grams is declared on the manufacturer's website, this is a clear mistake.
Alcatel PIXI 3 (4.5) lies comfortably in the palm of your hand thanks to the rounded edges, it is quite convenient to operate it with one hand. Visually, the smartphone almost does not stand out, it has a very typical, average design, except that large pictures on the buttons below the screen immediately catch your eye. On the front panel there was even a place for an event indicator light - it seems like a trifle, but nice. It will always be clear if you missed a call or received an SMS message. At the back, the phone received a soft touch rubberized coating with a large inscription in italics “PIXI” – many may like it, but most likely it will wear out in a month or two.
Although the Alcatel PIXI 3 (4.5) is made of low-end plastic, the case is still not so badly assembled. It crackles a little, and the lid is removed with little difficulty, but nothing supernatural. All slots for SIM and MicroSD cards are hidden under a removable battery.
Screen - 3.3
The smartphone received a typical budget 4.5-inch display, on which they decided to save money (as, indeed, on everything else).
The screen resolution is low - only 854 × 480 pixels. Estimated pixel density is 218 per inch. The image is fuzzy, and if you do not have vision problems, then it will not be difficult to notice individual pixels. The display type is not specified, it is only written that it is a TFT (Thin Film Transistor). But this is the same as saying nothing - so you can write about the majority modern displays. Judging by the fading of the picture during deviations, this is more likely TN than IPS. The display feels no more than two clicks at the same time and is not equipped with a light sensor (accordingly, there is no auto-brightness control). The screen is not particularly protected, you can only paste the film separately. The range of brightness change is not the widest - from 36 to 316 cd / m 2. For darkness, 36 cd / m 2 is too much. At first, we didn’t even manage to measure the color gamut normally - each time the colorimeter gave an error, but on the fourth attempt, it nevertheless took measurements and showed something about half of the standard gamut.
Cameras - 2.5
Alcatel PIXI 3 (4.5) received two low-quality cameras of 5 and 2 MP.
The resolution is standard for a very low price, but their main problem is the lack of autofocus. Getting clear photos is problematic - the result is poor even by the standards of 5 MP cameras (for comparison, the Lenovo A2010 with 5 MP shot much better). At the same time, the camera still has its own features, for example, flash and HDR mode. It's funny, but in the settings it says that the video is recorded at a maximum resolution of 840 × 480 pixels, but when checked from a PC, it turns out to be as much as HD-resolution at 1280 × 720 pixels (that is, even more than it was written).
The 2 MP front camera can only shoot budget selfies with filters such as sepia, retro, and video with a low resolution of 640 × 480 pixels.

In addition to the standard keyboard from Google, Alcatel PIXI 3 (4.5) has Swift Key installed. It offers continuous input, markup of additional characters, learnable predictive input of words. Unless switching between languages is not as convenient as in a standard keyboard - you need to hold down the space bar and drag it to the side.
Internet - 2.0
Alcatel PIXI 3 (4.5) is preinstalled with "Browser" and Google Chrome. The first one has features such as search, fit the page to the width of the screen, select a search engine, and more. It's a pity, but the adjustment to the screen width did not work for us. Chrome, on the other hand, boasts only the ability to synchronize tabs and history with the desktop version of the program. When working with browsers, we noticed periodic sticking on pages and a lack of device RAM.
Communications - 1.0
In this regard, Alcatel PIXI 3 (4.5) is a typical state employee. It's good that at least there is 3G support (for example, last year's Explay Rio didn't even have that). The phone received the following set of communications:
- 3G support (800, 1800, 2100, 2300 and 2600 MHz)
- Wi-Fi (802.11 b / g / n) with the ability to distribute the Internet

- FM radio (requires headphones to work).
The microUSB connector does not support any advanced functions - only charging and connecting to a PC for data exchange. I am glad that when exchanging data, the phone remains available for work. The smartphone works with two SIM-cards, but only 2G-Internet is available from the second one. During test calls, we heard the interlocutor quite well, as he heard us. The cold start of the GPS module took about three minutes - the result is so-so, but it is considered acceptable for the first start.
Multimedia - 3.0
Alcatel cannot boast of supporting a large number of audio and video files right out of the box. The smartphone did not play music in FLAC and MPG, RMVB, FLV format videos in tests, and also could not cope with the HEVC video codec.
Besides Google programs Music, the phone has its own rather simple player with an equalizer. The phone comes with headphones, the sound in them is not bad for a device with such a price.
There are no special settings in the video player, except for repeating the video or stretching the picture to full screen.

Performance - 1.5

The specifications of the chipset are quite simple: a two-year-old dual-core 32-bit Mediatek MT6572 running at 1.3 GHz. The amount of RAM is 512 MB, which is not enough, but here they obviously save on literally everything. The smartphone often slows down, even unlocking the screen does not look smooth. In synthetic tests, Alcatel PIXI 3 (4.5) received the expected minimum results:
- in GeekBench 3 - 575 points (less than samsung galaxy Nexus 3-4 years ago)
- in AnTuTu - 12,259 (one and a half times lower than last year's Asus Zenfone 4)
- and 3DMark Ice Storm Unlimited didn't even want to run, just like the Extreme version. Only Ice Storm earned, in which the phone showed only 2,274 points.
The lightest and simplest games run and work relatively well, but the already heavier Minion Rush game noticeably slows down, the image is not at all smooth. You swipe up to jump, and you already have time to remove your finger from the screen, and the character is just starting to jump.
Memory - 3.0
The amount of built-in memory Alcatel PIXI 3 (4.5) is 4 GB - a typical indicator for an ultra-low price. Of these, only 1.82 GB is available to the user.
But the phone has a slot for a memory card up to 32 GB. You can get to it only if you remove the cover and remove the battery of the device, so there is no need to talk about hot swapping the card. At the same time, it is interesting that, in addition to photos and music, some applications and games can be transferred to the card from the built-in memory.
Peculiarities
Alcatel PIXI 3 (4.5) is running Android 4.4. Upgrading to something newer can not even be expected. We call singularities low price, support for two SIM-cards, a collapsible body, almost permanent “brakes” and a large PIXI inscription on the rubberized cover. We also note that initially many applications have already been preinstalled on its 4 GB of internal memory, for example, social. networks, antivirus "Doctor Security" and so on.

Terrible camera, both front and rear. Memory problems, do not understand what this phone wants, a 4 GB memory card. It is set in the settings to immediately move all applications to the memory card, but it does not move them. Very stupid, it's impossible to go to Google normally, or watch a video on YouTube. We once again emphasize your attention is paid to the model, because the name Alcatel One Touch PIXI 3 (4.5) in this case only indicates that the device belongs to a certain line, but does not reveal it in any way specifications.
