Huawei Ascend G620S - Specifications. Smartphone Huawei Ascend G620S: review, specifications, reviews Information on other important connection technologies supported by the device

Huawei Ascend G620S - a representative of the class budget smartphones, in some countries it is shipped under the name Honor 4 Play. In Russia, sales started in November 2014. The smartphone has decent specs and an affordable price tag, but as many manufacturers are diving into the economy class niche, it has strong competitors. What can boast of Huawei Ascend G620S? The review will tell you in detail about its characteristics, pros and cons.

Appearance

You can expect that cheap smartphone will look cheap, but here you will be pleasantly surprised. Design mobile phones Ascend G620S is quite presentable, even if it does not pretend to be original.

The back cover is made of plastic with a leather texture. Its significant disadvantage is the tangible thinness and fragility.

If you remove the cover, this impression only intensifies, it is possible that it can break from frequent opening.

And under the cover you'll find the much-needed microSD and microSIM card slots. You will also be able to see the battery, but it cannot be removed without special skills and tools.

The smartphone looks elegant due to its thinness and metallized stripes around the screen, but it still fits well in the hand thanks to the textured plastic and rounded edges. Since it is quite large (14.3x7.2x0.85 cm, weight 160 g), the manufacturer has reasonably shifted the physical buttons (volume and unlock) to the right side, where they are easy to reach. They protrude slightly above the body, they are easy to find without looking and difficult to confuse.

Screen

The Huawei Ascend G620S smartphone boasts a large 5-inch display, but its resolution is only 720 by 1280 (pixel density per inch - 294). This means that the picture is not as sharp as that of more expensive models with a similar screen size, however, it is quite bright and pleasant to use. Users with small hands will have to get used to its size.

The smartphone has good viewing angles, and if you increase the brightness level, then it is quite possible to use it in bright sunlight.

The manufacturer still prefers to endure touch buttons on the panel below the screen, although it would be more ergonomic to take this space under the display.

Characteristics Huawei Ascend G620S

The smartphone has a fairly powerful Qualcomm quad-core processor, common among similarly priced models, clocked at 1.2 GHz. Its interesting feature is that it is not 32-bit, but 64-bit. But in reality, this does not provide significant advantages for two reasons:

  • the outdated Android 4.4 KitKat OS is installed on the smartphone, which is not optimized for 64-bit processors;
  • 1 GB random access memory not enough to fully benefit from it.

Nevertheless, the smartphone's performance in benchmarks is slightly higher than that of competitors.

But with permanent memory, things are worse. The built-in volume is only 8 GB, a significant part of which (4.18 GB) is occupied by the OS. And the possibilities of its increase are unexpectedly small - the smartphone supports memory cards up to 32 GB in size.

One of the main advantages of this model is 4G support, which is rarely seen in the budget segment.

In addition to 4G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and NFC are available.

The call quality of the smartphone is quite high. The interlocutor is well heard, and two microphones successfully cope with the noise canceling function, that is, on the other side you will also be heard well.

Interface and performance

Since the model uses the very popular Android 4.4 OS, all functions of the smartphone are intuitive and do not require a lot of learning and getting used to.

The Ascend G620S is quite fast, flipping through screens or navigating through the application list does not slow it down at all. The same goes for single launching of programs. But if you open several applications at the same time or an application is being installed in the background, then be prepared for freezes.

For most of the necessary functions (contacts, sms, music player etc.), the manufacturer provides the buyer with preinstalled utilities. But since they often have less functionality or elements in Chinese, it is easier to replace them with applications downloaded from Google Play.

Battery

The Ascend G620S has a small battery - only 2000 mA. This is less than the competition, but it performs pretty well in tests and everyday life. For example, after a day of active use (16 hours, several calls, half an hour of games, using applications for a long period), 19% of the charge remains. So the smartphone will only need to be charged for the night.

As a last resort, you can switch to Ultra Power Saving mode, which almost doubles the battery life, but at the same time blocks access to all functions, except for calls and SMS.

There is also a utility utility that demonstrates which physical components or applications are currently actively consuming battery power.

As mentioned above, those who like to carry a spare battery with them are out of luck, because the "native" battery cannot be removed.

Photo and video

On paper, the cameras of the Huawei Ascend G620S are completely identical to those found on competitors - the main 8 megapixel (with flash) and the front 2 megapixel. But often the pixels in the characteristics do not correspond to reality. So, the iPhone 6 also has an 8MP camera, but if you compare the pictures taken on it and on the G620S, the difference will be obvious.

The photos are of average quality, the colors are bright, but not quite accurate. The flash whitens the picture a lot. As a result, the result is slightly worse than not only competitors, but even one of Huawei smartphones - Honor 3C.

The shooting app is rich in features ranging from HDR and Panorama mode to different filters. There is even an option to put a watermark.

To take a picture, just press the shutter icon, simply on the screen or on the volume button, which in this situation replaces physical button shutter.

The camera can shoot video in quality up to Full HD (1080p). The result is quite suitable for viewing, however, the focus is often lost.

The Huawei Ascend G620S, which starts at around $ 125, is another iteration of refreshing the vision of the ideal budget phone. The model is equipped with a decent 5-inch screen, 4G and 64-bit processor. For its price, the smartphone is not bad at all. But I would like to see it not so stripped down and deliberately cheap. The phone has an old version user interface Huawei, which makes the Ascend G620S somewhat obsolete.

Design

The Huawei Ascend G620S is similar to Samsung phones before the company started making the really right models. You can't expect much from a device under $ 125. It is made of plastic with a leather-like texture on the back.

The G620S comes in black and white, and the latter has a silver finish and soft keys. The leather texture is quite fine, with fine grain, and really draws attention. The phone still feels cheap, although many will like this solution more than the usual gloss of other budget devices.

It's funny to see how cheap models began to appear large screens, and the G620S is no less than top-end smartphones like the Galaxy S6. It seems even large due to its wide display bezel and thickness. The buttons and soft keys are easy to reach. The obvious drawback of the model is the lack of backlighting for the soft keys. They are just shiny silver inserts.

The Huawei Ascend G620S phone doesn't have all the benefits of a removable plastic cover. There is a micro-SD card slot which makes it easy to add 8GB internal memory, but the battery cannot be replaced. It is held in place by a metal plate.

The main elements of the equipment more or less correspond to the price. There is 4G and the usual set wireless... Lack of fast Wi-Fi, IR transmitter and others additional features... But there is NFC, which many budget rivals lack.

Display

The lack of additional connections can be forgiven if the result is a great screen. And the Huawei Ascend G620S has just that, although not the best in its class. It's a 5-inch 720p display that's sharp enough but still far from Retina. The smartphone offers a pixel density of 294 dpi, which leaves little grain in the image.

But this is normal, phones with a resolution of 1080p will not appear soon for less than $ 100-120. For those who have used a lower-resolution smartphone before, this one will seem like a huge step forward. Where Huawei falls short is in screen technology, which is less advanced than the top models.

The display layer is too far from the display surface. This reduces contrast and outdoor visibility. In very bright sunlight, the Ascend G620S struggles. In more expensive screens, several layers are combined and have no air gaps, which improved their performance.

The light sensor allows the smartphone to select the appropriate backlight brightness.

Huawei Ascend G620S: software review

Unfortunately, the installed software disappointed some phone owners. First, the G620S runs the outdated Android 4.4.4 operating system. To make matters worse, the old version 2.3 of the Huawei Emotion UI is installed, which actually defines the look and feel of the smartphone more than the core of the operating system.

The basic bootloader scheme is the same as for more new version but there is no separate application menu. There are only a few desktops, just like the iPhone. This means that when you install an application, it will just appear on one of the desktops. At first, when the user downloads a lot of new applications, it is annoying. Icons can be grouped into folders to reduce the number of desktops.

But outdated software is much inferior, for example, Motorola Moto G, although it does offer some useful features. Themes allow you to completely change the way your phone looks, including wallpapers and icons. The default theme is one of the best, but there are many additional ones that can be downloaded using the appropriate application.

How to remove low-quality software

Smartphone is a little overwhelmed unnecessary applications Gameloft, which clutter up the already small phone memory. Of the 8 GB, only half is available. However, the owners have the opportunity to get rid of unnecessary junk their Huawei Ascend G620S. W3bsit3-dns.com for this advises to unlock the bootloader and get root user rights. The access code can be obtained by sending to email manufacturer letter with serial number, IMEI 1, product code and model name. Unlocking is done using the ADB program. The root user rights will be provided by the CWMRecovery application.

Performance

The smartphone performs well thanks to a 1.2GHz 64-bit quad-core Snapdragon 410 backed by 1GB of RAM. Despite the fact that the Huawei Ascend G620S has low specifications, they are great for a budget phone. Aside from some UI bugs, the G620S pretty much runs smoothly, especially once the owner has learned how to handle the device. Delays sometimes occur, but very minor ones.

The phone is also good in games. 3D only slightly lowers the frame rate in the most complex (or under-optimized) applications, such as Asphalt 8. This is confirmed by the results of testing in Geekbench 3 - the smartphone scores about 1330 points, which is 10% more than the Snapdragon 400 Moto G.

It would be nice to have more memory for installing games and storing music.

Cameras

The phone is equipped with a rear 8-megapixel camera with LED flash and a front-facing resolution of 2 megapixels. The photos come out surprisingly respectable, with bold colors and no red clutter, as is the case with many cheap models. This is partly achieved thanks to a rather "smart" mode, which not only judges exposure and color temperature well, but allows you to focus closer than in auto mode, which is convenient for macro photography. The noise level in low light conditions is small and the exposure is raised enough to provide good detail. Natural dynamic range cameras Huawei Ascend G620S user reviews are called meager, but there is HDR mode which compensates for this problem. What is missing is performance. Slowness of the camera reduces the degree of pleasure obtained from working with it. The camera app takes almost 5 seconds to load, there are delays when releasing the shutter, and Smart and HDR modes are significantly slower than Auto.

Camera results can be decent with patience, but many good moments can be missed.

Battery life

Smartphone Huawei Ascend G620S thanks to its confident endurance wins back a few points in its favor. Although the battery capacity is only 2000 mAh, the charge lasts for a long time. It is about one day of intensive use. However, with moderate use, only 30% of the battery charge remains in the evening. According to reviews, a reflective screen in the open air forces to increase its brightness to the maximum, which significantly increases power consumption. Therefore, the device is more suitable for office workers. Standard test endurance gives 10.5 hours of battery life, which is better than the "Moto G". This is most likely due to the aggressive power management system, 64-bit processor and less power-hungry display.

Sound quality

The tone of the speaker of Huawei Ascend G620S is called clear by user reviews, and the sound is not too smooth or with the addition of excessive warmth. For this reason, the voices do not sound very attractive, but understandable. There is also an additional microphone for noise canceling. The same story, according to reviews, and with the speakerphone, the speaker is on the back. At the maximum level, there are no distortions, such as in cheap phones, but the volume is not very high and the sound is rather weak.

Should you buy?

Huawei Ascend G620S, which is priced at around $ 125, is very solid budget phone based on the Android operating system, which will serve well if you accept its disadvantages. For their money, the user gets a decent processor, 4G, and a 720p display. Among the negative aspects are the high reflectivity of the screen, the slowness of the camera and outdated software. However, for those who find its price attractive enough to save money, the Huawei Ascend G620S will be great phone entry level.

  • A reflective screen does not perform well in bright light;
  • Unusual and outdated software.

Main characteristics: 5-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1280 by 720 pixels; Android 4.4.4 with Emotion 2.3 interface; Snapdragon processor 410 1.2 GHz.

Manufacturer: Huawei

What isHuaweiAscendG620 S?

The Huawei Ascend G620S is the latest vision of the ideal budget smartphone, which Motorola has beautifully demonstrated with its Moto G. For a price of $ 200, you will be offered a decent five-inch screen, 64-bit processor and 4G support.

The price is of course good. True desire to save money on software makes Ascend G620S a little outdated, which explains the low price of the device.

Huawei Ascend G620S: Design

Huawei Ascend G620S looks a bit like Samsung smartphones as they looked a year ago, that is, a plastic case with a texture on the back. For the price of the device under $ 200, in principle, quite an expected design.

The smartphone is available in black and white colors. The white version has a silver border and the same color soft keys. The plastic surface is engraved with an imitation leather texture. Also a kind of interesting design solution.

The Huawei Ascend G620S can hardly be classified as a small and handy smartphone. To some, it may seem quite cumbersome. Although both the softkeys and the keys on the case are easily accessible. The advantages of the smartphone include the presence of a slot for microSD-cards, allowing you to expand the existing 8GB of memory. But the battery in the smartphone is not removable.

Other characteristics are quite expected, as for this price. You won't find high-speed Wi-Fi and an IR transmitter here, but the smartphone supports 4G networks.

Huawei Ascend G620S: Screen

Here we have a five-inch 720p screen that delivers decent sharpness, albeit far from the Retina standard. The Huawei Ascend G620S offers a pixel density of 294ppi, which, again, is fine considering the cost of the device.

The display is slightly "recessed" under the top layer of the screen. This, in turn, has the effect that visibility deteriorates on sunny days. The smartphone is equipped with a light sensor that allows the Ascend G620S to adjust to the required light level.

Huawei Ascend G620S: Software and Android

One of the main industries that may annoy most people with the Huawei Ascend G620S is software... And initially, this is what the smartphone runs on operating system Android 4.4.4, not the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop.

More importantly, the Ascend G620S uses old version user interface Huawei Emotion. Version 2.3 is installed here, in contrast to the third version of the interface, which you get in more expensive smartphones of the company, such as Ascend G7. Some parts of the Emotion 2.3 interface look a little dated at the moment, especially in the settings menu.

The basic layout is, of course, the same as in the new version. The biggest change is the separate menu for apps. Also here we have a desktop system, like in the iPhone. This means that whenever you install an application, its shortcut simply finds a place on one of your desktops. And version 2.3 of the Emotion interface arranges them in a peculiar way, so finding some may be difficult.

And although this is annoying at first, when many applications are installed in new smartphone, after that, you can configure the number of home screens, and in which folders to install applications, allowing you to organize work with your smartphone.

And, nevertheless, Ascend G620S can please its owner with several additional options. For example, the interface has the ability to use themes that completely change the look of a smartphone, including icons and the wallpapers themselves. While the default theme is one of the best, there are plenty of additional ones that you can download from the Themes app if you want more. It's fair to say that Emotion version 3 has a slightly better theme.

There are also many preinstalled applications that may not be necessary for the user, but nevertheless clutter up the device's memory. So out of 8 GB of device memory, only 4 GB is available to the user.

Huawei Ascend G620S: Performance

In the past, we've seen quite a few smartphones with Emotion 2.3 interface that perform rather poorly. They worked slowly and the memory was cluttered with unnecessary ones. However, the Huawei Ascend G620S, by contrast, performs very well.

It uses a Snapdragon 410 64-bit quad-core 1.2GHz processor and 1GB of RAM, which is very good for a device under $ 150. We noticed one or two bugs, in particular a calendar glitch, but overall, the Huawei Ascend G620S works great under normal conditions of use. Sometimes there are small delays, but they are extremely minor.

The device also performs well in games. Even in demanding 3D games like Asphalt 8, we only noticed freezing in a few frames. Despite the fact that the smartphone uses not the latest Android version, it's as good for gaming as any device for under $ 200.

Performance test results also confirm this. For example, the Huawei Ascend G620S scores 1,330 points on Geekbench 3, which is 10 percent more than the Moto G powered by Snapdragon 400.

The smartphone's own memory is a little lacking, but here you need to take into account that it would be difficult to expect this for such a price.

Huawei Ascend G620S: camera

The Huawei Ascend G620S has an 8MP camera with LED flash and a 2MP front camera. For $ 200, you can hardly expect more.

His photos look amazingly good, without the red tones we see in many low-cost smartphones. This is thanks to the "smart" mode, which itself determines the exposure and color rendition quite well and better than the automatic mode, which is convenient to use for macro photography. Also, "smart" mode works well in low light conditions, helping to improve the quality of images.

The slowness of the camera is upsetting. For example, the camera application in the Huawei Ascend G620S takes about five seconds to load, there are also delays when pressing the camera shutter, and special modes are much slower than automatic shooting.

Battery performance

But what sets the Huawei Ascend G620S apart is its battery endurance. It has a battery with a capacity of only 2000 mAh, which is certainly not enough for a device with a diagonal of five inches, but it works really well.

We are not saying that the battery will last for two days, active use can drain it in a day. At least we did it. However, normal use will leave about 30% charge in the evening.

It should also be noted that in order to use the smartphone outdoors, you will need to turn on the highest possible brightness. So battery endurance works best when using the Ascend G620S in the office.

With a test of playing 720p mp4 videos until the battery runs out, the Huawei Ascend G620S lasts 10.5 hours. This means that it outperforms the five-inch Moto G. All this thanks to a 64-bit processor and a less power-hungry screen.

Huawei Ascend G620S: Sound Quality

To end the Huawei Ascend G620S review on a good note, one cannot fail to mention its call quality. And it's great, at least we didn't hear any interruptions during testing.

The speaker sound is crisp and clear. There is also a second microphone, the use of which leads to noise cancellation in the speech of the speaker. The smartphone has one speaker on the back. It does not distort the sound at full volume, as it does on cheaper smartphones, but its sound is not very loud and rather thin.

Should I buy Huawei Ascend G620S?

The Huawei Ascend G620S is a very good budget Android smartphone. Just see what you can get for your money: 4G, a decent processor, and a 720p screen. Not bad, isn't it?

The bad sides are the high reflectivity of the screen, rather sluggish camera and outdated software. However, if you want to save money, then you can buy it without hesitation.

Summary

A solid budget Android smartphone with a tough battery and only slightly more expensive than the cheapest smartphones.

Review of an unexpectedly pleasant smartphone, a direct competitor to Xiaomi Red Rice 2 - this time under the Honor brand. 2 SIM card, 64-bit Qualcomm processor, working LTE, nice camera, many interesting features ...
Discount coupon at the end of the review.

Well, let's start with the fact that this is Hodor Honor, not Huawei. That is, of course Huawei, but ...

V general company Huawei is now launching smartphones under 2 brands. Honor are inexpensive smartphones for the mass market. Huawei and his the lineup Ascend - top smartphones, so to speak "premium". Although in Russia you can still remember about the not very pleasant pronunciation of the Huawei brand, but this is far from the main reason. In China, by the way, Honor has been sold as an independent brand for a long time. Rumor has it that there are rumors about the division of the company and the allocation of separate centers of design and development, but so far Honor is just an inscription.

The first device under the Honor brand was the Honor 6 - a very interesting and cute device that has rightfully become one of the leaders in its segment. Honor 4 is a family of mid-range smartphones with good specifications, so for example Honor 4 Play at a cost of $ 150 (January 2015) has the following characteristics:

Honor 4 Play specifications

Contents of delivery

The smartphone comes in a small blue box. The cardboard is dense, the print is of excellent quality. There is only one mention of Huawei on the box - "Powered by Huawei" in the form of a small icon on the back of the box.

And the delivery set is "ordinary Jewish". Charging, cable and paper.

Appearance and ergonomics

Honor 4 Play will be difficult to call stylish. Yes, in our time there is little to stand out, because on the front part a large area is occupied by the screen, so only the back cover and the edges of the smartphone remain.

Given the lack of inscriptions on the front of the smartphone, it can be easily confused with some kind of Fly or Explay. But rear part pleases - the back cover is made "under the skin", even though it is plastic by all its 146 percent. It looks really nice and even expensive; the plus is the absence of any inscriptions and icons, except for Honor.

On the whole, the smartphone makes a calm impression, with a preponderance of "nice". On the front there are 3 control buttons, and in their "non-standard" design, like Alcatel (TCL), some Lenovo and other Asian manufacturers. To the left of the center button is Back, and to the right is Menu. You have to get used to it, but at first it gets annoying ...

Also above the screen we see a camera for selfies and a voice speaker. There is also a light sensor, a proximity sensor and a notification diode.
The diode is bright and clearly visible, it lights up when charging and blinks when notifications are received.

On the back cover there is a camera, a flash and a cutout for the ringing speaker. Moreover, the back cover is slightly rounded, that is, the smartphone is slightly thicker in the center than at the edges. It also allows for a more comfortable grip on the smartphone.

The left side is pristine, the keys are located on the right. The power button and volume control keys are positioned so that when you grip with either hand, they are right under your finger.

MicroUSB connector - bottom, 3.5 mm - top.

The dimensions of the phone are also "average" - not large, but not small, not thick or thin ...

The back cover is still removable, but the battery is not removable.

By the way, there is also an inscription on it only about Honor and no huavei for you! Under the back cover we see 2 slots for microSIM, with the first working in 2G / 3G / 4G networks, and the second only in 2G. There is also a microSD slot.

The smartphone weighs 160 grams, so you can't call it light, but it fits comfortably in one hand. Build quality does not raise questions, squeaks back cover no, although time spares no one. No backlashes were also noticed.

Display

A 5-inch HD screen is used. The screen is covered with glass, but who is the manufacturer - we could not find information. The screen is made using IPS technology and, in principle, very, very good quality. The truth is a little "yellow", but it can be seen only in comparison with other screens. The colors are bright and juicy, you can see something on the screen in the sun at maximum brightness, this is a plus. Supports 10 touches, the sensitivity is very high.
Moreover, the screen has a kind of "super-sensitive layer" that allows you to work with smartphone with gloves!... In the conditions of the Russian winter, it is a very useful thing.

Performance and benchmarks

The 64-bit Snapdragon 410 processor (MSM8916) is used, this is one of the new solutions. There is no sense from 64 bits in Android yet, nevertheless, “+” can already be put in front of the “marketing value”. Operating frequency - 1.2 GHz, quad-core processor, Adreno 306 is responsible for graphics. In general, this is a quite productive solution and is intended for the middle price segment. The processor is more than enough for everyday tasks. But the RAM is 1 GB, there are no other options, but I would like more, given the "gluttony" of modern applications. In principle, at this price of the phone, this is a normal number, which, again, will be enough for 90 percent of users.
The phone does not slow down and works very smartly, it launches and successfully plays even rather complex toys like Aphalt 8, Gta san Andreas and others. The graphics are not maximum, sometimes there are slowdowns in top-end toys, but the phone is not one of the top-end solutions for games either.
Antutu - 20 thousand. The rest of the tests are below.

Communication and communication.

The smartphone supports 2 micro SIM cards, both work at the same time (one radio module). One slot only supports GSM networks (2G), while the second one supports LTE, WCDMA and GSM. LTE operates in frequencies B1 / B3 for FDD-LTE and B41 for TD-LTE. In Moscow, MTS easily caught a 4G network in the B3 standard (LTE 1800), which was built only in December, albeit with standard low speeds for "eggs" (in comparison with Megafon-Yota, of course).

Megafon LTE 1800 (B3) network, but very soon they promise to deliver it in the Moscow region, but nothing is heard about Beeline ... On the territory of the regions of the Russian Federation, it is necessary to look at the operators' data separately, whether there is a B3 network or it is in the plans.
The rest is standard - WiFi, BlueTooth 4.0 ... There are no problems with communication, the phone is very confident in maintaining the network, only when 4G is on, the signal can "jump" and break the connection, but this is a feature of this range, there are only a few towers in Moscow ...

Gps

Since the chip is from Qualcomm, everything is fine with navigation here. Moreover chinese phone it hooked GLONASS satellites much more readily than GPS, and also hooked a couple of BeiDou satellites. In general, the Honor 4 Play navigator can be easily replaced.

Battery

The battery is built-in, you just can't change it if something happens. Interestingly, there is passive cooling on the battery ... I haven't seen this for a long time)
In general, the battery proved to be more than worthy, for 5 inches and rather active use the phone lived quietly for 2 days and even half of the third. Antutu Tester only confirms this. This is optimization! The phone is quiet enough for 3 days of average activity, in active mode by the end of the day it will still have 20-30 percent of the battery. Although again, the confidence of the 4G network reception decides.

There is an interface for managing the battery and the applications that drain it, which is really capable of increasing the battery life.

Camera

The main camera is a module of "only" 8 megapixels with backlight technology and flash. Megapixels are few, but Huawei did a good job on the camera and flash work - the phone takes surprisingly decent photos, head and shoulders above the ZTE Red Bull, for example. Sometimes there is not enough detail, in the dark the pictures are very soapy and there is clearly not enough aperture, but you can get a good frame. It is especially pleasing that the auto mode is really smart here and almost always makes the best choice of exposure and sensitivity. And sometimes it is better to turn off the flash manually.

Sample photos

And the camera really has a lot of different settings, so you can turn on autofocus in motion, focus on the entire frame, face tracking ... I would still like better detail, but overall the camera was a pleasant surprise.
Uncompressed originals

Software features
The smartphone operates on the basis of Android 4.4.4 OS, and there is definitely no need to doubt the update to Android 5.0 - the update will also be official. The system operates under the control of Huawei's own shell - EMUI version 2.3. I must say, I saw this shell from Huawei in version 1.x on Huawei Ascend P6 and then it did not make a splash, but then I appreciated the beauty of the firmware. It turned out to be very, very comfortable and literally stuffed with all sorts of chips. In my personal ratings convenient firmware EMUI takes its rightful place at the level of Flyme OS, MIUI, LeWa and others like them. It will be interesting to have a look at EMUI 3.0 in the final version (beta is already on the net). You can review EMUI 2.3 and screenshots of the upcoming EMUI 3.0.

A noticeable disadvantage of the smartphone is the lack of Google services in the firmware, that is, the smartphone user will most likely have to download the Google services that he needs himself. This is done quite simply, through the Huawei App Market installed on the smartphone, but the very need to do some manipulations to install applications and synchronize contacts is not encouraging ...

A guide on how to do this is presented in the video below.

Of the "standard" functions of the firmware - control of gestures and double tap-shakes, but there are also a number of features of this smartphone. For example, very relevant for Russia - control with gloves !!!
You can see this in more detail in the video review, the function actually works. The screen will not react to inanimate objects (styluses, cards, etc.), but it recognizes any gloves with a bang (rags, natural and artificial leather).
Another small but nice feature is the automatic change of pictures on the screensaver and on the desktop ... Every time there is something new, even the built-in wallpapers in the smartphone are very cute and I want to get them on other phones ...
You can also change and expand the notification menu, the smartphone has automatic notifications about which application consumes a lot of energy with a proposal to close it (and the smartphone lives for a really long time!), Built-in application security system with blocking of certain functions ... Even the simplest Mirror application - produces a "Wow!" effect. It fogs up and you can write and draw on the smartphone screen))

Other nuances

The smartphone is loud enough, although there is only one speaker, its quality is excellent. The sound quality in the headphones is average, there are no revelations here. The interlocutor hears me perfectly, as I hear him, I even reduced the volume of the voice speaker. The smartphone has an over-the-air update function, but for the most latest firmware For some reason, the smartphone did not want to update independently, I had to drop the file myself onto the memory card.
I will also note the abundance of Chinese programs, which, however, are very easily removed from the smartphone and do not interfere with life at all.
During a month of use, the smartphone has rebooted only once and has no connection problems at all. The same goes for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, the sensitivity is high, there are no problems in operation.

Video review

conclusions

The smartphone is not popular on the web, and it’s in vain. Considering that the smartphone has already been brought to mind and has LTE (albeit not all operators) and 2 SIM cards on board, it is worth paying attention to.
Pros:
- Excellent build quality
- 2 SIM
- Availability of LTE for Russia
- Excellent battery life
- Convenient interface and well-thought-out shell OS Emotion UI
- "Smart" camera

Minuses
- Camera detail is lame
- Second SIM only in 2G
- 1 GB of RAM

Peculiarities
- LTE standards B1 and B3
- Lots of Chinese apps out of the box

In general, the smartphone turned out to be pleasant. This is typical " workhorse"- quite productive, with a good camera, battery ... These phones are bought for a long time.
For me, the smartphone has become some kind of revelation, first of all - thanks to the pleasant and well-thought-out EMUI shell, working LTE and an "intelligent" camera.

There are as many needs as there are people in the world. Some people want a fully charged smartphone for any money, while others can serve it cheaper and easier. Still others want something in between, while still others cannot decide. Thank God that manufacturers take into account all the variety of desires and offer us intermediate models, such as the Huawei Ascend G620S.

Classic as it is

This device is approaching the mainstream category. It is significantly more interesting than state employees like Huawei Y5c, however, it does not hold up to the mini-flagship Huawei P8 lite. The design of the plastic case with a metal edging around the screen is no different. It's classic.

Yes, they once looked like that Samsung flagships, but now, perhaps, only the lid is of interest - its texture resembles leather. It does not get dirty or scratched, unlike glossy plastic, and it looks beautiful. The cover, by the way, is removable, but the battery is built into the smartphone - for some reason it cannot be replaced. The cover hides slots for one SIM card and a microSD memory card.

Another nuance is that the touch buttons under the screen are applied with silver paint, and they are not backlit in the dark. This is normal for inexpensive smartphones. In general, the smartphone is pleasant. It is thin, light, and conscientious.

Screen and "filling"

The Huawei Ascend G620S is equipped with a 5-inch HD display. If you have used inexpensive smartphone like the Huawei Y5c, the quality of the display will amaze you. The picture is bright, clear, and the stock of brightness is enough to comfortably use the device in bright sunlight. At the same time, it is clear that the screen is not top-end, and you can see a better image by paying a few thousand rubles and buying, for example, Huawei P8 lite.

"Filling" Huawei Ascend G620S will allow you to play games like the popular Asphalt 8 races, comfortably climb the Internet, use navigation without being annoyed by the speed of Yandex.Maps or other navigation systems. At the heart of the Huawei Ascend G620S is the popular Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 64-bit quad-core processor with a frequency of 1.2 GHz and 1 GB of RAM. These resources, in general, will be enough for several years to come, if you are not a gamer. In this case, the "iron" behaves quite sparingly in relation to the battery. With an average load at the end of the day, your Huawei Ascend G620S will still have about 30% charge, which is a very good indicator.

Works Huawei Ascend G620S on Android system 4.4.4, but forget your past experience of communicating with her (if any), since here the proprietary Emotion UI 2.3 interface is installed on top of the system. It makes Android laconic, simpler, as if unloading it from the mass of elements, making it look like an Android smartphone on an iPhone. It's no secret that many craftsmen install this and similar interfaces on their smartphones, because they are really more convenient than the "bare" Android.

The built-in memory in Huawei Ascend G620S is 8 GB, but it can be expanded using a microSD card.

Camera: honest 8 megapixels

Using the example of budget smartphones, we have already learned that a large number of megapixels does not guarantee good pictures yet. However, in this case, you can fully count on all eight million points!

Also, Huawei Ascend G620S was equipped with good optics with aperture of f / 2.0 and, as the manufacturer claims, a “blue glass filter”. It is unlikely that we are talking about a blue light filter, which changes the spectral composition of the light passing through it, and which can only be used correctly by professional photographers. Most likely, we are just dealing with the creativity of marketers. The shots taken with the Huawei Ascend G620S are surprisingly good. The smartphone copes well with macro, does not sin with highlights and dips in the shadows, and also does not catch glare. Verdict: camera huawei The Ascend G620S is fine for Instagram lovers.

Communication means

It's strange but chinese smartphone Huawei Ascend G620S only supports one SIM card! But is there a tragedy in this? Not at all. Despite the fact that having two phone numbers very convenient, for many there is no need for such an option. So why pay more for it?

The main thing is that this, in general, inexpensive device supports high-speed LTE networks and is capable of downloading data from the Internet at speeds up to 150 Mbps! Simply put, you can take a minibus and watch YouTube videos if conditions permit. In addition, the Huawei Ascend G620S supports GPS and GLONASS to ensure accurate and quick identification locations when working with navigation systems... Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are still there.

Each of us has our own psychological threshold, which limits us in spending money. For someone it is 5 thousand rubles, for someone 10, for someone 15-20 ... The hero of our today's Huawei review The Ascend G620S should definitely appeal to those who are not interested in buying budget devices, but are not ready to spend money on devices in the mid-range segment. Classical appearance, nice body, solid screen, "filling" that will keep up with the times, good camera worthy time autonomous work and, of course, LTE support - yes, the Huawei Ascend G620S definitely deserves the attention of a thoughtful buyer who knows what he wants.
