Let's give a second life to corrugated board. Let's save nature together!

How to make a prototype of a newfangled iPhone from improvised means, for example, from available paper, cardboard? A similar question can arise in several cases. Often, children, observing adults, imitate them in everything. Including they really want to press the buttons of your phone, pretend that they are calling someone and talking. Having given your gadget to play with the child, you can say goodbye to him, because the kid can accidentally drop it, break it, fill it with water. Therefore, making a smartphone out of paper for a child is the most correct decision that will allow both the child and the equipment to be kept safe and sound.

Making a toy iPhone

In order to do cellular telephone Apple brand, you will need:

Choosing a template

In order to prepare a template, you need to find and download a scan of the iPhone model we need on the Internet. There are many options: iPhone S, 5, 6, 7. It is best to print on glossy photo paper, but if there is none, then the printout can be done on plain paper.

Advice : if you don't have a color printer at home, then you need to download the template to a USB flash drive and just print it in any photo studio.

What template you find on the Internet determines what the resulting phone will be like. Good templates are one hundred percent similar to the original, and there are also special cutouts in the side details in their printouts. Thanks to this, in the process of folding and gluing them together, you will get a good copy of the iPhone. Most often, in the iPhone printouts offered on different sites, you just need to apply scaling so that the phone turns out to be the same size as the real one.

Step-by-step instruction

First you need to cut out the template printed on paper clearly along the lines. You need to know that you do not need to cut the parts (back wall, screen, side parts) separately from each other. Everything is cut out in one piece and then gently bent along the fold lines. After the template is cut, you need to place it on a clean, hard surface of a table or cutting board. A clerical knife cuts narrow straight cuts in the side flaps, which will be used to fasten the iPhone model. To make it smooth, it is better to use a ruler. Lay a ruler along the future cut and draw a straight line with a knife along the ruler.

Advice: if you do not have a clerical knife, then use a regular blade such as "Rapier" and the like. It is very difficult to cut narrow long holes in the side parts of the phone model with scissors. If you make the slots wider or uneven, appearance the phone after assembling it will not be very neat. It is necessary to work with the blade very carefully; you do not need to entrust this work to a child.

We make a detail that will be inside the iPhone. Draw a pencil around the front of the iPhone template on thick cardboard. Cut out, rounded the corners a little, like a real iPhone. This blank will stiffen the inside of the screen.

To add the weights of the paper phone model, you need another blank. The material for lining the inside of the phone can be a denser, heavier cardboard. For example, from the lid of a shoe box. You can also use corrugated cardboard, an old waste mat for computer mouse... Cut out the detail by tracing the back wall of the iPhone with a simple pencil according to the selected template. Cut out with scissors and glue to the part obtained from thick cardboard in the previous step.

Now you need to bend the fold lines of the printed and cut template at right angles, thereby obtaining a phone layout. The previously obtained part is glued into the interior, which makes the "filling" of thick cardboard heavier and stiffer. The side flaps are rolled up and inserted into the slots of the side lugs. The sides of the phone are also smeared with glue from the inside. It remains to hold the glued surfaces a little so that the glue seizes, and the technological toy is ready.

Toy phone for dolls

By carefully following the advice of our article, you will learn how to make a phone for dolls out of paper. However, making a smartphone with your own hands for dolls as well as for children. You just need to take smaller sizes. If you made a mistake and did not zoom in when printing a template for the desired iPhone model, then you just get a model for playing with dolls.

The process of making a smartphone designed for baby dolls can be simplified. For manufacturing you will need:

First you need to cut 3 rectangular parts from corrugated cardboard. The size of the iPhone model you need can be found on the Internet. For example, if you need 3D -model iPhone 4, the dimensions of the rectangles will be 7.5 × 13.8 cm. It is necessary to round off the corners of the parts, and then glue them all together.

Then you need to glue the phone case with electrical tape... After that, glue the ends of the case with electrical tape of a different color. The most commonly used color of the phone case is white on the back and front and black on the sides.

The finishing touch will be the installation of the toy craft screen. The printed screen template, pre-cut, must be glued to the front of the layout. To make the screen shine like real glass, you need to glue the screen with tape... Draw with a black marker round button on the phone case in the center under the screen.

Origami paper stand

Full adult imitation doesn't end with just playing with the paper phone. Caring parents can continue this theme and, together with their child, make a stand for his paper iPhone, toy headphones, a case, and a charger. Making a phone stand is as easy as shelling pears. This will require thick cardboard, a pencil or pen and scissors. On the cardboard, you need to draw a diagram according to which you will need to make cuts and folds. Such schemes are quite easy to find on the Internet. Yet you can turn on the fantasy and if you have free time, together with your child, decide how to make a phone stand out of paper using the origami technique.

A modular origami phone stand is made of many identical parts (modules). You can make any three-dimensional shape from the modules, including a phone stand. Modules are folded from paper, then one module is inserted into another, if necessary, fastened with glue. The ability to use paper of different colors will make such an accessory original and unique.

Making a model of a realistic iPhone out of paper and a stand for it is an opportunity to develop the creative abilities of a child and have fun with him. After reading our detailed instructions, even a child will know how to make an iPhone 6 phone out of paper. During modern technologies school-age children will be quite interesting to perform an analogue of a phone popular among young people in labor lessons. Such 3d models can also be used as props in theatrical performances, for pranking friends, or as a gift. After all, the made case mobile device can be filled with banknotes or small candies. It all depends on the idea of the author.

Attention, only TODAY!

Having spent a rather large (and for some astronomically large) bag on a phone with an apple logo, I do not want to spend money again in order to purchase expensive accessories for the phone. Many craftsmen, with the help of their rich imagination, make an iPhone stand using very different objects.

Do-it-yourself creative stand is an opportunity to show originality, as well as reuse some materials (which is especially important for nature lovers).

Office option

If you spend a lot of time at work in the office, your choice is homemade iPhone stands made of paper clips or clips. A do-it-yourself stand made of pencils will also look very elegant (you will also need a few pharmacy rubber bands to make it).

Tip: Use rubber-tipped pencils for more stability

Not the most practical, but one of the most common options is an iPhone stand, prepared in the form of origami from thick paper or cardboard. We can say that this is a one-time option, but at the same time, paper is something that is almost always at hand. Especially sophisticated users even use banknotes for this purpose.

Home option

Among household utensils, for comfortable watching a movie from an iPhone or working with a Bluetooth keyboard, the following are very suitable:

  • decorative or linen clothespins, from which you can easily make a pretty stand, quickly, simply and with your own hands;
  • duct tape (select a roll of the required size, glue the end of the tape to back cover smartphone and adjust the viewing angle);
  • Lego bricks - they make a very stable and solid iPhone holder. You can easily vary colors and change designs (you can even make a rotating model);
  • rubber toys - by cutting out the necessary recess with a knife, you can get a new "toy" for your gadget.

Rare option

If you do not belong to the generation that can only listen to music through iTunes and have several old audio cassettes in your archive, you can take a plastic cassette case as a holder for your iPhone.

Tip: MiniDV cases fit perfectly

Other options

To minimize the effort spent on finding the necessary materials, you can use direct packaging from the iPhone. Of course, this option will only work if you haven't thrown it away and saved the plastic stand that housed your phone.

Oh, those paper clips. As many of us already know (and some do not), this is one of best tools for office creativity that you can think of.

In this case, I was able to come up with a design for an iphone stand made from 3 large paper clips. The iPhone stand uses one of the levers, one of the paper clips, as the base, leaving a gap for the charging cable. Easy to make yet effective iPhone stand,

Materials:
- 3 paper clips - 3 large clips
- [Optional] Foam and glue
- [Optional] One small paper clip for binder

Step 1: Base - Putting Everything Together

Open the two clamps and connect one on top of the other as shown in the figure. Then remove the outer arm of one of the two clips. Everyone knows that the levers can be removed by pressing them (on standard clips) This will be the base of the iPhone stand.
You can immediately remove both levers from the other large clamp.

Step 2: Backrest of the iPhone stand - preparation

Assemble just such a structure.

Step 3: the back of the iPhone stand is the highlight

Now thread the levers into each other. This is harder than it sounds and the lever will likely slip out at first. If this happens, simply push the lever into place (as shown). Trust me, this is a lot easier than trying to bend the lever while keeping it in place.

Step 4: Backrest of the iPhone Stand - Closing

Now you just need to turn a paperclip forward, and the levers at the back will snap into place and the whole system will be brought together.

Step 5: cable - threading through the iPhone stand

Take your favorite cable and thread it through paper clips to the front as shown. This will look best with small cables (like audio and MicroUSB) rather than larger ones (like iPhone cable 4). If the cable does not go through the metal lever, simply remove it, slide it over the cable and lock the lever in place.

Step 6: additional steps

I glued a piece of polyurethane where the iPhone fits into place. This is not required, but it helps to keep the phone in place.
If you find your iPhone slips out of the stand too easily, just add a little more as shown. However, the cable is designed to keep the phone in place anyway. Play with it and find what you like.

Step 7: finished product

This is how the finished product looks like. It's easy to use - just plug in your phone and place it on the iPhone stand.

If you have ever come across an iPod Touch, then you probably know that this player comes with a special stand that allows you to put the iPod on its side and in this position calmly watch, for example, a movie. For some reason, the iPhone, which can be called the older brother of the iPod Touch, was cheated and such a stand for it does not exist at all, so users from all over the world come up with various accessories as a stand that can be made at home in five minutes. Today I will tell you about several ways of how to make an iPhone stand with your own hands.

By the way, if you, after reading the first paragraph, are still wondering why you cannot use the iPod Touch stand for the iPhone, then I will tell you that it does not fit a little in size. The iPod Touch is thinner than an Apple phone, and so the stand has been dimensioned specifically for the player.

This stand looks like this:

Moreover, you can put your iPod on it both vertically and horizontally. In addition to a simple stand, many iPhone 3G owners also often invent new and simpler and cheaper ways to make a dock for themselves (in fact, this is the same stand, only vertical and in which you can charge the phone):

Included original iphone This dock was supplied with 2G, but for some reason, starting with 3G, it no longer exists. Like, if you want a dock, buy it separately. As a matter of fact, there are also a huge number of instructions on how to make a dock at home, so for now, today we will limit ourselves only to a stand that allows you to put the iPhone in a horizontal position, and we will tell you about the rest sometime next time :)

So, there are a huge amount of instructions, so I will tell only you only about the most interesting ones in my opinion.

Let's start with the way I use it myself. You will need two medium binder clips for this.

Bend one sweetheart at the clamp a little, about 40 degrees.

Then insert the second clip inside it like this:

And that's all. Now put your iPhone on this structure and enjoy :)

But this method is not very convenient because you have to break a paper clip, it takes time, and, for sure, not everyone will agree to break their stationery for such a trifle. Therefore, there are two more easy ways make yourself a stand out of paper clips. For them, you also need two clamps, and preferably of different sizes.

Slip the smaller clamp into the larger one in this way:

And put your iPhone on the whole thing :)

Personally, this state of affairs did not suit me, and for myself I made the clamps in this way:

Now everything is holding up perfectly and the phone is at the angle I need :)

By the way, in addition to watching a movie, such a stand can be useful in order, for example, to use an iPhone like such desk clock(I use the application for this Night stand, but there are many other analogues in the AppStore) and, I must tell you, it is quite convenient and does not eat up the battery very much.

But let's go back. The most, as they say, the budget option for creating a stand is considered to be a stand from a CD box. If you have an unnecessary CD box lying around at home (or with friends) (but it should not be very small), then you can use it. Remove the cover from the box and just put the phone in it :)

The grooves where the lid is attached just fit the size of the iPhone and it fits perfectly on them. The disadvantages of this stand are that it takes up a lot of space and the pin sticking out from above does not look very aesthetically pleasing :)

Two Chinese guys, without bothering too much, made their own version of an iPhone stand from a single paper clip.

As you can see, the simplest paper clip is taken (only slightly larger than usual) and bends in certain places. Especially for those who wish, the authors have posted the template in PDF format, by printing which you can easily assemble your own version. Bend the paperclip at the bend points accordingly and that's it. The template can be downloaded.

If you have some unnecessary plastic card lying around at home, then you can also make a stand for an iPhone out of it. The card needs to be bent in two places and you will be happy :)

The distance to the first fold is about 12-13 millimeters, this should just fit the size of the iPhone. Bend the rest in half, in the middle.

An even simpler way, reminiscent of the CD box, which I already mentioned, is to use ... a cassette box as a stand. Ordinary audio cassettes, which we all once used until the era of mp3 came :)

Take this box, open it completely and insert the phone there as follows:

Keeps quite normal and does not fall.

When you first opened the box with your future iPhone, you probably noticed that it was lying there in a small plastic stand. So, if you don't feel sorry for her at all, then the stand can be made out of it.
