However, OS updates affected mainly devices of the Nexus line, Google Pixel and a number of other flagship devices from different manufacturers... At the time of the article's release, almost all Android 8 firmware showed approximately the same system performance results in Antutu benchmark(the difference reached 200 - 300 parrots, which is extremely insignificant for the system to work). The average figure was 83,000 parrots. The testing itself took place on Motorola Google Nexus 6.

5. Colt OS
In fifth place in our review of android firmware is Colt OS, developed by a small community of enthusiasts from India.
Pros:
The firmware has several interesting design solutions: beautiful redesigned animation, several added additional functions on customizing the device. The color scheme of applications has been slightly redesigned, the ability to use a light or dark "curtain" theme and system applications and a number of other small design innovations.
One more strong point this firmware became its power consumption and very deep sleep. During the night with 4G internet turned on, the battery consumption will be about 3-4 percent. During the day, with maximum screen brightness and the Internet on, it promises to work up to 12 hours - which is very good for my Nexus 6.
Minuses:
The system is updated very rarely, security patches are released with delays. When the system was started, bluetooth immediately "fell off" and later on it did not work quite correctly: every now and then it turned off, or could not find devices nearby. We also noticed slight slowdowns in the system animation and low launch speed of applications.
Outcome:
Colt OS is being developed by a team of only fourteen people, three of whom are designers. Hence all the ensuing advantages and disadvantages of the system. The system is rarely updated, compared to other firmware in this top, it has an average speed and average system stability. However, the system itself is quite good at saving battery power and has a number of advanced options for customizing the system.
4. crDroid
CrDroid 8.1 Beta firmware - developed based on AOSP, SlimRoms, OmniRom, LineageOS and many other custom firmwares. The platform was developed to improve the performance, reliability and functionality of your Android devices, compared to the stock version of the firmware.
Pros:
On the plus side, I would like to note that this is one of the fastest and most stable firmwares in this top. The system is updated often enough, security patches are released in a timely manner. In addition, the developers have significantly expanded the functionality and capabilities of the system.
Minuses:
The system automatically overclocks the processors to almost maximum frequencies which negatively affects battery life. Also, the default AudioFX equalizer does not work and some system widgets do not load.
Outcome:
crDroid is still in beta testing. The system has its own minor flaws that can be corrected manually; in general, the system is quite fast and stable. The development team maintains and develops its platform and has long established itself in the software community previous versions your Android firmware.
3. Nephilim
Nephilim Renown is one of the custom ROMs currently supported by one person. And this is not really a custom firmware, in its usual sense.
Pros:

It is very stable, it receives updates in a timely manner and has a number of its shortcomings, but otherwise, it's still the same stock Android Oreo and if your device is not supported by the developer before Android 8.0 - you should pay attention to it.
2. AICP
AICP Oreo Edition 13.1 - the system is based on the infamous CyanogenMod firmware(now LineageOS), has a huge android community and several development teams who, in one way or another, had a hand in the development of the system.
Pros:
It turned out to be one of the most supported and frequently updated firmwares in this top. Contains a gigantic amount system settings, additional functionality, customization possibilities. The system is very fast, there is a possibility of adjustment clock frequency processor straight through graphical interface applications, thereby regulating the power consumption of the system, which is very convenient for ordinary users... Strictly speaking, this is the most optional and customizable system in this top. The system caused me the greatest delight, which, unfortunately, did not last long ...
Minuses:
At the moment, this is the most unstable firmware in this top. The phone may reboot for no apparent reason, play music through the system player, or not recognize the SIM card in the device. Something constantly "falls off": the camera does not turn on, then AudioFX turns off, and in general various applications "fly out" here and there.
Outcome:
AICP turned out to be the most functional in this top, however, due to its extreme instability, the user should think three times before installing this firmware. In defense of AICP, I would like to say that several development teams have worked and are working on it at different times, such as: CM team, DU team, Omni Rom team and many - many others. The system is being corrected and refined and after a certain amount of time it will become stable and one of the most functional.
1. LineageOS 15.1
And the successor to CyanogenMod - the new Android firmware - LineageOS 15.1 Oreo, which is the benchmark among custom Android firmware, is naturally in the first place on our list. Currently, the system is being developed by Cyanogen Inc and the android community. Millions of users around the world, as an analogue of stock Android, choose it.
Pros:
At all times, LineageOS (hereinafter referred to as LOS) was famous for its support, update frequency and security. From the developer's site you can download a separate zip archive, for getting root- is right and you do not have to spend a lot of time getting them, which is also very convenient. The system is stable, has a large number of additional settings. According to the developers, many of the features that appeared in Android were borrowed from them, including the Live Display function.
Minuses:
This is the firmware that showed the lowest system performance result in Antutu (about 68 thousand parrots). Also, LOS 15.1 still lacks all the functionality of Android 8.1 Oreo.
