For players in a platoon, responsibility to potential allies for the outcome of a battle begins even before the battle, at the stage of forming a platoon and choosing vehicles. Depending on this, a platoon can either strengthen the team with its coordinated actions, or weaken it with an incorrectly selected composition. Especially if the platoon has vehicles with a significant difference in levels.
Rewards and penalties to experience for platoons based on the results of the battle
With the release of Update 9.15, coordinated tactical actions of players in platoons will be encouraged: members of a formation consisting of vehicles of the same level will receive rewards in the form of a bonus to experience. And platoons with multi-level equipment (the difference between the maximum and minimum tank level is more than 3 ) will receive a penalty to experiencedepending on the magnitude of the difference in the levels of the machines. When trying to go into battle on tanks of different tiers (with a difference of more than 3), players will see a graphical warning about the incorrect selection of vehicles.
The reward based on the results of the battle will be accrued for platoons, which include single-tier tanks. The amount of the reward depends on the outcome of the battle (victory or defeat), as well as on the level of equipment in the platoon. D Platoons formed dynamically in battle will receive experience bonuses for playing on the same tier vehicles, starting from the second battle. If a player joins a previously formed platoon right in the battle, he will receive a reward only from the next battle.
Based on the results of the battle, experience penalties for vehicles of different tiers in a platoon are accrued if the difference between the maximum and minimum levels of tanks in the platoon is more than three. The size of the reduction coefficient to experience depends on the difference in levels.
If a third tank joins a platoon with vehicles of different tiers in battle, then only the players who created a platoon of different tiers in the Angara will be fined after the first battle.
A notification about the amount of a reward or a penalty based on the results of a battle in a platoon will be displayed on the third tab of the post-battle statistics.

What is all this for?
The reward for squads with the same vehicle level will serve as an incentive for players to unite and act more effectively in battle. Our goal is to encourage collective action. Especially since for this in the game already exists, and in the future, new improvements are planned: automatic formation of platoons with friends and some other innovations.
Solo players have been and remain the most important part of our game. However, we want to encourage singles to discover a new side of World of Tanks - to try the game in a platoon. After all, coordination and joint actions are exactly what allows participants in virtual battles to develop, and platoons are the most suitable tool for this.
Platoons with vehicles of different levels are a manifestation of unsportsmanlike behavior for which fines are imposed. They will make it clear to inexperienced or irresponsible players that it is necessary to carefully consider the choice of equipment before the battle. T Equipment of the same level makes the platoon a combat-ready tactical unit that will not be a burden on the team.
What's next?
In the future, it is planned to switch to single-level platoons and disable the ability to go into battle in a platoon on vehicles of different levels. This will allow us to rework the team formation systems - matchmaking. Unlike the current one, which forms team templates depending on the state of the queue for battle on the server, the new system will be more focused on the equality of opposing teams in terms of levels and types of vehicles. It is planned that the teams will strive to form according to the 3-5-7 principle: 3 top tier tanks for this battle, 5 mid tier tanks and 7 minimum tier tanks.
Such a formation system will not only solve the problem of team inequality in terms of balance weights, but will also affect the gameplay of random battles, giving the opportunity to realize the potential of the tank in battle, regardless of its position in the list of commands. The new matchmaking will increase the influence of any part of the team's roster (top, middle or minimum levels) on the outcome of the battle.

A well-played platoon of three skillful players is capable of winning both 70 and 80 percent of battles, which, you see, is a very good indicator. Naturally, this is extremely positive for both experience and silver. Just do not think that as soon as you create a platoon, you will automatically start winning immediately. You need teamwork skills, which appear after many joint battles.
Which platoons are the most effective? In general, it is better to take the same vehicle, this maximizes the advantages of specific vehicles, which will allow you to win more often. Often in platoons they play on different vehicles, which is due to individual preferences, as well as simply the fact that players pump different tanks.
If, for example, you are playing different medium tanks with a friend, you can still ride together, although the individual characteristics of each vehicle may create obstacles. For example, if American tanks, due to good vertical aiming angles, allow you to effectively play from behind hills, then a Soviet or German medium tank will not allow you to use such tactics.
If, for example, you got on a heavy tank, and your friend took a medium one, then most likely you will have to split up and go in different ways: on most maps it is extremely unprofitable to drive, for example, on a heavy tank along a route that is usually used by medium . So it's better to take the same tanks when playing with a platoon.
Although there is one exception: these are platoons, which consist of two self-propelled guns and one light tank. Before patch 0.8.6, it was just a deadly combination, but even after such squads are able to "drag" the battle. The self-propelled guns are reduced to a square, into which the firefly goes, they shoot synchronously, which allows you to destroy most tanks in one salvo.
If the enemy is standing behind a destructible cover, then this will not be a problem for two self-propelled guns: one destroys the cover, the second - the enemy, who remains defenseless. And the synchronism of actions does not allow the tank to hide. When playing with such a platoon, there is another advantage: a light tank can find out if there is an enemy in a given square, then the self-propelled guns will occupy it and unpleasantly surprise the enemy team with fire from an unexpected position.
Now let's move on to specific tips that will help you act more effectively in a platoon. First, use voice communication. Typing text for a long time is very distracting in a dynamic battle. Standard commands are still not enough to coordinate their actions in a difficult situation. Now the microphone costs almost a penny, so do not spare the money to buy it.
Secondly, work in focus, that is, concentrate fire on one enemy. It's always better to take out one enemy for sure than damage several. If the enemy has only a few hit points left, they will still shoot and damage both you and your team, which can ultimately tip the balance in favor of one team or the other.
Thirdly, cover the damaged comrade with whom you play in a platoon. Strictly speaking, this applies to all other members of your team. The same rule applies here, but in the opposite direction: it will be better if you have the maximum number of tanks left in the team, albeit damaged ones, than there will be only a few, but with a full margin of safety.
Skilled players who go into battle as a squad are able to evenly split the damage received among themselves, which allows them to deal the maximum amount of damage. In general, if you have few hit points left, then feel free to hide behind not so damaged allies.
Fourth, choose the equipment wisely, especially for those modules that improve visibility. It makes sense for one player in the platoon to take, for example, a stereo tube and a camouflage net to highlight the enemy from the bushes, and for the other two to shoot from a long distance in order to also go unnoticed, at least it will be difficult to hit them.
Fifth, kill the tanks that are standing alone first. Everything is simple here: the enemy who has strayed from the rest is an easy target. And the fewer tanks in the enemy team, the better.
Sixth, during the pre-battle countdown, discuss future actions with other members of the platoon. You can arrange a little brainstorming and choose the most suitable route. In general, many players neglect tactics, assessing the situation in battle, but World of Tanks is, first of all, a tactical game in which the ability to shoot accurately and “take out damage” play an important, but still secondary role. 
Seventh, try not to shine ahead of time. Experienced opponents will try to destroy the platoon in the first place, as they understand the threat it poses. And it’s better not to reveal yourself until the very last moment in order to attack from an unexpected direction and shoot the enemy who hesitates.
Eighth, a partner can always cover your flank or rear. In random battles, allies behave unpredictably, for example, they can simply abandon you and leave you alone with several opponents. A platoon partner will not do this, which greatly increases your tactical options. As a platoon, for example, you can arrange a successful rush, which is unlikely to be effective if you act with random allies.
Ninth, a platoon partner can be of use to you even after death. He can control the tactical situation and give advice. In the lower right part of the window for inviting players, you can also write the text of the invitation (for example: “Hi, let's play with a platoon at level 10”) and click invite, after which a new notification about sending will appear in the information line of the game client messages (bottom right). offers to the selected player to join the platoon.
