The absence of optical stabilization... However, once you get used to the camera and start holding the phone more confidently, the slight blur will disappear immediately. A sufficiently high detail of the picture also brightens up this defect a little.

If difficulties with a clear “non-trembling” picture arise even during the day in good natural light, imagine what is happening at night or indoors. Although this is a problem for most smartphones, what can we say about the average market representative. Just be mentally prepared for a little "knocked down" exposure, noise and shallow blurring of the edges. As a last resort, console yourself with the thought of a properly working autofocus and white balance.

The selfie camera is a positive counterbalance to the lack of stabilization. In addition to high resolution at 16 megapixels, it will delight you with sharp and high-quality portraits with excellent detail. Indoors or in dim light, the developers suggest using the phone screen as a "flash", which illuminates faces with soft white radiation and allows you to preserve the quality of photos.

Samsung Galaxy A5 is equipped with a 5.2-inch display with Full-HD resolution... Within the walls of the test lab, the panel looked very convincing thanks to its good brightness and decent contrast. Useful function: A mode named "Always On". In it, a mid-range smartphone informs the user about notifications, current time and battery status with minimal energy consumption.

Inside the Galaxy A5, the company developed Samsung processor Exynos 7880 assisted by 3 GB random access memory... During the practice test, of course, given mobile phone in terms of performance, it is clearly inferior to that in which more powerful processor... The built-in storage is limited to 32GB, but can be expanded with microSD cards up to 256GB.

After the criticism was taken into account by the manufacturer, in addition to the expandable internal memory, the smartphone is also equipped with a waterproof case. In particular, due to the compliance with the IP69 standard, the Galaxy A5 (2017) can withstand even a 30-minute immersion in water (to a depth of 1.5 m).

16 megapixels double packed

In terms of camera performance, Samsung clearly did not economize when creating the Galaxy A5 (2017). Both on the front and on the back of the body are cameras with a resolution of 16 megapixels each. The main camera offers users a 27mm focal length and f / 1.9 aperture. First of all, it is the "main" camera that produces decent and clear pictures. The front camera, on the other hand, is a bit disappointing. Here, the shooting results are much darker and poorer in detail. Samsung video Galaxy A5 (2017) only shoots in Full-HD resolution.

The 3000 mAh battery was also convincing. Overall, the battery lasted 9 hours and 12 minutes during our endurance test. With Quick Charge, the Galaxy A5 (2017) needs 1 hour 54 minutes to fully recharge.

Is the price correct here?

Samsung does not make many mistakes with the Galaxy A5 in 2017. We are missing the image stabilizer for the main camera, and the results of the work front camera seem disappointing. But the dynamics of prices for the Galaxy A5 (2017) is getting really interesting. Although the value for money is quite good here, the Galaxy S7 is already in the immediate vicinity at a cost of about 450 euros.

In addition, in the S7, Samsung is adding a few items to the list of equipment, and the main camera of the top-level model is much more convincing. Moreover, when the S8 hits the market at the end of March, the prices for the S7 are likely to drop even more. We can only hope that the retail price of the Galaxy A5 will also be adjusted accordingly.

Alternative options

In the meantime, you can get it by paying from 29,000 rubles. Thus, given Alternative option turns out to be only slightly more expensive than the Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017). The 32GB internal memory can also be expanded in the Galaxy S7 using a microSD card.
