Next, we are asked to choose a format (container) for storing our video. Here we will also not change anything and leave the default value: "AVI or MPEG". We will select the type of compression "Audio + video", which will force to compress when encoding, both audio and video later.
In the "Compression mode" section, we are offered three options. "NO" - video and audio stream will be recorded without compression. This option will allow you to win a little in quality, but the output file size will turn out to be unreasonably large. "On the fly" - in this case, the compression will be carried out "On the fly", that is, during the recording process. This method is dangerous because the slightest overload of the operating system during the recording process will cause failures, which during subsequent viewing can be expressed as jerks during playback, as well as a discrepancy between the video and the sound sequence. "After capture" - this option allows you to perform the final encoding after the recording process. In this case, we will spend the most time, but we will get the best quality.
The bottom two drop-down lists allow you to select video and audio compressors. The number of items in these lists depends on the presence of installed codecs in your system. To confirm the changes made in the "Recording Options", we click on the "Save" button.
If a TV tuner board is installed on your computer, then TV Player Classic will allow you to watch not only online TV channels, but also analog TV, which is delivered to our apartments via a regular antenna cable.
