Exhibition in barcelona mwc. What surprised the exhibition of mobile technologies in barcelona. Blackberry: phone with keyboard

From February 27 to March 2, Barcelona will host the MWC 2017, where an army of 1200 Wi-Fi hotspots stood last year. Every year a crowd of journalists, bloggers and everyone who works in the field of gadgets, electronics and communications arrives there. What to expect from the exhibition this year?

Samsung: don't wait for the S8

Previously, the highlight of the program was the announcement of new Samsung products, a year ago the Koreans brought their flagships S7 and S7 edge to the exhibition, continuing the tradition of S-series announcements in the heart of Spain. Now the Galaxy S8 will be shown at a separate event, probably for the organizers of MWC this is a sad fact, but competitors will be happy, they will write more about them. And the new Galaxy S8 will be shown in April in New York.

LG: goodbye to modules

LG unveiled a weird G5 last year. The phone was supposed to impress with its modular design and be a worthy answer from Samsung. But the wild idea did not flood. LG had quality problems, very few modules appeared, the project was hacked to death, and now the G6 is being prepared. What will be good about him? Perhaps there will be a 4K screen, wireless charging and an improved camera.

Sony: the fight to survive

The old guard lives quietly and modestly, only Xiaomi and Meizu are heard, but they began to forget about Sony. What will be next? Perhaps the fault is the company's policy with strange device names or the short lifespan of the models, when several flagships were shown at once in a year. Sony is preparing a couple of smartphones for MWC 2017, we do not know the characteristics yet, but here are their codenames, which do not hint at anything: G3112 and G3121. Will we see a replacement for the Xperia X? Perhaps.

"Frameless" Xperia XA Ultra

Xiaomi: the new flagship

They say that this year Xiaomi will show its next flagship at MWC, it will be the Mi6. Will he actually appear there or will the Chinese bring something simpler there? Xiaomi usually does not have an intelligent stand, and presentations are somewhere in the bins and for a circle of the elite. Everything is not like people, in short.

Huawei: show the flagship

Most likely at MWC 2017, another Chinese company will bring its new P10, which will become the flagship of this year's line. On the render, it is on the left, front and back views.

Nokia: long awaited return

Nokia 6 was presented in China, now comes the time of the European region. Most likely we will see 4 new models at once with screens from 5 to 5.7 inches, the top will be Nokia 8 with the code name Supreme.

Lenovo Moto: the continuation of the X-series

We thought that the photos on the leak are a future representative of the updated X-series, but it turned out that this is the Moto G5 Plus. Apparently this will be one of the announcements of the exhibition.

HTC: give you a flagship

HTC is trying its best to stay in the mobile market while it does it poorly, judging by the latest innovations. This year the company plans 6 new models, a couple of new products were shown, these are HTC U Ultra and HTC U Play. Ahead is the continuation of the top-end HTC 10, which will be shown at MWC.

Blackberry: phone with keyboard

Blackberry Mercury was shown at CES 2017, but did not go into details. We expect that TCL (better known in our country under the Alcatel brand), which now produces devices for Blackberry, will show at the new exhibition.

On the territory of the complex there are two buildings, namely, Fira Montjuic, with an area of 165,000 sq m and a pavilion, more conveniently located in terms of public transport, as it is located in Plaza de España.

Every year 70 salons are held on the territory of the exhibition complex, bringing together more than 30,000 companies and 2.5 million visitors. You can watch all the fairs on the official Fira Barcelona website.

The most outstanding and most numerous trade show of the year is without a doubt the Mobile World Congress, a renowned technical conference in Europe. Also on the territory of the complex are held such events as: International Motor Show, Salon Manga (Exhibition of comics) and Exhibition of seafood of Barcelona.

In addition, Fira Barcelona has earned international acclaim over the years. Therefore, it has offices in 43 countries around the world. Participants and guests from more than 200 countries come here to participate in various exhibitions. The development of business and international trade is one of the goals of the events taking place here.

The Mobile Word Congress is the world's largest trade show for the mobile industry. It is attended by mobile operators, manufacturers of mobile devices and producers of various content for mobile platforms. The exhibition is held annually and acts as a kind of testing ground for the presentation of certain developments of various manufacturers. Many people strive to show at the exhibition mock-ups of devices that are not even really ready yet, in order to stir up public interest in the upcoming release of the device itself.

2019 will be the year of the launch of fifth generation cellular networks. 5G will be one of the main technology topics for the coming year and the leaders of the technology industry are already preparing for the era of new mobile Internet speeds. According to a new report, two South Korean tech companies - Samsung and LG - will delight the public with 5G smartphones at MWC 2019, which kicks off late February next year. A very noticeable difference is expected between the innovative products of the two well-known mobile device vendors.

Recently, Valve was about to unveil its virtual reality headset, rumors of which have been in the air for months. Well, that day has come, but the Valve headset at MWC 2015 was presented not by Gabe Newell's company, but by the Taiwanese electronics manufacturer HTC. The headset is called Vive and was developed by Taiwanese engineers in collaboration with specialists from Valve. It seems that it has acquired a serious competitor.

The device does not have any extraordinary design, but it is difficult to call it just a laptop, because, firstly, it easily opens 360 degrees, and secondly, it can also be easily divided into two parts.

The Porsche Design Book One is equipped with a 13.3-inch display with a resolution of 3200x1800 pixels and decent hardware: an Intel Core i7-7500U processor, 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of solid state drive. The price has not yet been confirmed, but it is said that the branded ultrabook will cost a little over $ 3000.

Samsung Galaxy Book

Samsung is also trying not to forget about the release of Windows tablets, which with the advent of Windows 10 and the increasingly economical Intel processors are becoming more user-friendly.

In Barcelona, the Koreans showed the Samsung Galaxy Book - a tablet in 10.6 and 12-inch versions. The younger one has a resolution of 1920x1080, the older one has 2160x1440 pixels. The new products have everything the most modern: 4.5-watt Intel Core processors of the 7th generation, up to 8 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB on a solid-state drive, as well as a Wi-Fi module (IEEE 802.11ac), an LTE modem and a GPS receiver / GLONASS. Both models have a fingerprint scanner and USB Type-C ports.

The Galaxy Book comes with a magnetic keyboard case and a wireless S Pen.

Fast forward to Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2017, which is held annually in Barcelona. In fact, MWC is CES for smartphones, and this year many new gadgets are announced here by such well-known world electronics manufacturers as LG Electronics, Samsung, Huawei, Sony and others. A few days before the official opening of the exhibition, they held presentations, and judging by the results, in 2017 we will see an influx of Android smartphones with large displays and thin bezels.

Blackberry

Two days before the official start of the exhibition, TCL Communication Technology presented a BlackBerry smartphone with a QWERTY keyboard. For a long time, the company's development was codenamed Mercury, but at CES 2017, manufacturers showed a prototype and declassified the name of the new model - BlackBerry KEYone.

The KEYone is the latest smartphone the company will launch under the BlackBerry brand. The novelty is a traditional candy bar with a hardware QWERTY keyboard. The body frame is made of aluminum and the back panel is made of plastic. The device runs Android 7.1 Nougat operating system, is equipped with a 4.5-inch IPS-display (1620x1080 pixels) and two cameras - the main one with a resolution of 12MP and the front one with 8MP.

The company expects BlackBerry fans to appreciate the updated keyboard, which reacts not only to the duration of the press, but also allows you to do without it altogether - special sensors are built into the device, thanks to which you can simply slide your fingers across the keyboard. Like many flagship smartphones from other manufacturers, the BlackBerry KEYone has a built-in fingerprint scanner designed to protect the device from unauthorized interference. But, unlike all the same smartphones, the sensor is located not on the front or front panel of the device, but in the space bar.

Inside is an eight-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor and a 3505 mAh battery. KEYone supports fast charging, which, according to the manufacturers, will take only 36 minutes. The device has 3GB of RAM and 32GB of built-in memory. It can be expanded up to 2TB using a memory card.

Lg

The next day, several manufacturers presented their new devices at once. LG Electronics launched the first with the next flagship smartphone G6. The main feature of the new device is a 2K screen with rounded edges, a diagonal of 5.7 inches and an aspect ratio of 18: 9. The display resolution is 1440x2880 pixels with a resulting density of 564 dpi. Implemented support for Dolby Vision and HDR10 technology and a separate quad-DAC chip for better sound quality.

The company showcased an updated UX 6.0 interface on top of Android 7.1. Its key feature is square blocks, with which you can run multiple applications at the same time and take advantage of new functions within one application.

In partnership with Qualcomm, they developed a 13MP dual camera with a 125-degree field of view of one of the lenses. The front camera with 8MP supports shooting with a viewing angle of 100 degrees and allows you to take pictures in self-portrait mode - the smartphone will automatically recognize the face in the frame.

The smartphone is based on the Snapdragon 821 processor that Qualcomm released last year. It uses 4GB of RAM, there are two modifications for 32GB and 64GB of built-in flash memory, which can be expanded up to 2TB with microSD. Battery capacity - 3000 mAh with wireless charging capability.

The LG G6 was built in partnership with Google and it has paid off - it is the second Android device after the Google Pixel to support Google Assistant.

A fingerprint sensor is located on the back of the smartphone. The metal body is made in three colors: silver, white and black.

Huawei

The Chinese manufacturer brought Huawei P10 and P10 Plus smartphones to MWC. The filling of the smartphone practically does not differ from previous models, and therefore the company relied on an unusual design. Huawei selected the color scheme of the new line together with Pantone. As a result of such cooperation, a device appeared in a new, unusual color for smartphones - light green (Greeny).

According to the manufacturer, the casing of the devices is protected by a special coating that prevents fingerprints and scratches. The smartphone turned out to be thin - only 6.98 mm. In addition, the company decided to move the fingerprint scanner to the bezel, below the screen.

Inside the Huawei P10 is the eight-core HiSilicon Kirin 960 crystal, familiar from the Huawei Mate 3. Users will have access to only one modification with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory. The P10 Plus uses the same chip, but offers another modification with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of flash memory. All models support the relatively new 4.5G LTE standard with download speeds up to 600Mbps. Operating system Android 7.1 with proprietary Emotion UI 5.1 interface.

In terms of size, both smartphones do not differ much from each other - the P10 received a 5.1-inch screen with a resolution of 1020x1080 pixels, and the P10 Plus - a 5.5-inch screen displaying 2560x1440 pixels. The P10 Plus is the first product in the Huawei lineup to feature Quad HD support. The batteries of the device received the appropriate - 3200mAh capacity for the small model and 3750mAh for the larger model. The company promises up to two days of battery life and Huawei Super Charge fast charging.

For the camera, Huawei again brought in Leica. The camera has a customary dual design: one 12MP sensor takes ordinary pictures, receiving information about the color from them, the second 20MP - only monochrome, reading light data. This technology improves the quality of photographs taken at night and provides a wider dynamic range. The front camera has a matrix with a resolution of 8MP.

The devices will go on sale, incl. in Russia, in March 2017 at a price of 650 euros.

Lenovo

The next debutants were the Moto G5 and G5 Plus from Lenovo - smartphones with a metal body and a fingerprint sensor with gesture support, powered by Android 7.0. Inside, the younger model has a Snapdragon 430 chip, a built-in LTE Cat 4 modem and a 2800mAh battery. The older model received an eight-core Snapdragon 625, an X9 LTE cellular modem and a 300mAh battery.

The difference in screen size is again negligible, with the G5's display diagonal being only 5 inches, while the G5 Plus's is 5.2. Both have a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. Lenovo offers two modifications for each model: so the G5 has a version with 16GB of internal and 2GB of RAM, as well as 32GB of flash and 3GB of RAM. The G5 Plus will be available with 2 or 4GB of RAM and 32 / 64GB of internal storage. Both devices received 5MP front cameras. The main camera in the G5 is 13MP, while the G5 Plus is 12MP. There is a Micro-USB port and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The lower price limit starts from 200 euros.

Nokia

Here Nokia showed the world the revived model Nokia 3310. The new version of the phone became noticeably smaller and thinner. Along with a certain reduction in the overall volume of the device, some angularity of the lines of the body also disappeared. And although the manufacturers have left the previous name, the device will work on the basis of the Nokia's Series 30+ operating system and will receive a QVGA display, a 2MP camera and a microSD slot. Despite all these improvements, the device lacks GPS, Bluetooth and NFC functionality. Opera Mini is used as the main browser in Nokia 3310. The device is expected to have 31 days of standby time and 22 hours of talk time. The price of the issue is 49 euros.

Another model unveiled by HMD under the Nokia brand at MWC 2017 is the Nokia 6. Smartphone with a 5.5-inch display, 16MP camera, Snapdragon 430 processor, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of flash memory. It will be available for purchase in the second quarter of 2017 at a price of € 299.

Samsung

Samsung will officially unveil the new smartphone on March 29, however, several videos and photos of the device have appeared on the network, which can help you get a more definite idea of the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus. Looks very similar to the S7, but there is one difference - the lack of physical buttons. According to rumors, both versions of the smartphone will receive a curved screen, Snapdragon 835 and Samsung Exynos 9 Series 8895 processors, a 12MP main camera and an 8MP front camera and an iris scanner function.

Sony

With a 5.5-inch display and a resolution of 2160x3840, it supports 4K content playback, just like the previous version of the Xperia Z5 Premium. The manufacturer's partner, Amazon, this time specifically for the new model launched the production of various HDR content.

The new version is powered by an eight-core Snapdragon 835 processor with a 3230mAh battery and Qualcomm Quick Charge support.
