Download mod for skyrim traveler lantern

Are you a traveler, adventurer? Do you like wandering through dungeons and dark castles, or just strolling through Skyrim at night? And you probably need light, without which it can be quite difficult to navigate in the dark.
Caught in a mess in which you have no time for magic, and at the same time you need a free hand? Then this modification will suit your taste. She adds lamps that can be worn not only in the hand, but also on the belt.

In addition to creating your own lamps, and there are two types of them: a lantern and a lamp, you can configure them in the mod settings menu. In addition to adjusting the brightness of the glow, if you wish, you can turn on the consumption of lamp resources, as well as a visual display of this process. Also available is their auto-reset and response to the time of day and location.

You can craft a traveler's lantern at the forge, the crafting recipe will be in the "Miscellaneous" subcategory, in addition, you can find a lantern for sale. For a firefly lamp, you will have to buy a glass jar and plant a firefly in it. To do this, simply equip it and get closer to the beetle, you do not need to catch it, the operation is automated.

Companions can also carry lights. Moreover, they will extinguish them in the daytime, indoors or when they sneak.

If you have the official Dragonborn add-on installed, then you will have access to paper lanterns.

Description:

A rather old but very atmospheric mod that allows you to create portable lanterns and use them to light your path.

The main feature is that you can put the flashlight on your belt, thereby freeing your hands.

To create a lantern you need:

Buy a traveler's lantern or craft it at the forge

Buy a firefly lantern (empty) and catch a firefly in it

Options are accessed through a new spell: "Options: Lantern"

“I bought a flashlight but nothing works”

The flashlight (by itself) does nothing. After purchase, craft in the forge using the lantern itself and strips of leather "Traveler's Lantern"

“I gave a flashlight to a satellite, but it doesn’t work”

Satellites use the flashlight only at night or if they are indoors

"During stealth, my companion doesn't turn off the flashlight like my character does."

This causes the game to crash. In order for the satellite to turn off the lantern, talk to him and ask about it.

"I gave the flashlight to the satellite, but it is not displayed"

Talk to him and take the lantern, then give it again

Installation: Unzip to the Data folder and activate

This small but very useful mod adds to the game the ability to equip the player and NPC with portable lanterns that cling to the belt or take in the hand, the lanterns will help you illuminate the dungeons while exploring them, and so on. And you can also just catch a firefly and put it in a lantern. Lantern illumination is brighter than that of a torch. There is also the ability to swim underwater with a flashlight and much more... By the way, this mod from the well-known author Chesko, who continues to delight us with such extensive mods that add more and more realism to the game... well-known mods such as "Frostfall", " Campfire" and others.

Update:4.0.2
- When dropping (dropping) a lantern from inventory, the player will now be prompted to choose whether to drop the lantern lit or not lit.
- Changed height and width options on the indicator configuration page to one option "Size", instead of height and width.
- Added check to profile for reading/writing mod settings. If you have Windows file access/permission issues that prevent you from saving your profile settings, the mod will warn you about it.
- Fixed a bug in a part of the code that is used in conjunction with the Frostfall / Last Seed mods (the Last Seed mod has not been announced yet)
- Fixed a bug where the position of the pollen indicator on the Y axis was not saved correctly.

Update:4.0.1
- Fixed a bug where the player could hear the flashlight switching when pressing the control key or holding the hotkey, even when the flashlight was not equipped.
- Fixed a bug when using the hold keys to switch the lantern, when activating books, the lantern would activate after you finished reading it.
- The flashlight will no longer switch when using the hold key while grabbing and moving an object in the game world.
- In the MSM menu, I have translated the options on the left, right, bottom, top, center, both (if you notice something else that is not translated, write in comments or in a personal message)

Update:4.0
- When upgrading from 3.0b to 4.0, you will need to perform some upgrade steps, see below for what to do in the "How to upgrade" section
1. Features and changes
- New option: Lantern Slot - Now you can choose which slot to use for all wearable lanterns.
- New option: Off when in stealth - The flashlight will automatically turn off when you enter stealth mode. Works with manual and automatic modes.
- New option: Hold Ctrl to toggle - If this option is enabled in the MCM menu, it will be possible to toggle your flashlight on or off by holding the control key, similar to Pip-Boy's light activation in Fallout. You can choose between holding down the "Use", "Sprint", or "Weapon at the ready" key. You can also set how long the key is held.
- Lanterns now use only one slot (slot 55 by default).
2. Compatibility with Campfire:
- When using the Campfire mod, there will now be a crafting recipe for the Traveler's Lantern when using the Survival skill: Craft Items.
- When using the Campfire mod, there will now be a crafting recipe for a Paper Lantern when using the survival skill: Craft Items.
- Lantern oil can now be used as tinder. This is "high quality" tinder, one rank below Dwemer oil.
3. Convenient controller: The new "Use hold to switch" option will add convenience for controller users to turn the flashlight on and off by simply holding the A/X/L1 button. And every time you turn on the flashlight, the remaining fuel will be displayed (optional), thus reducing the need for a special "Check Fuel" key.
4. Complete indicator control: The setting and display of indicators has received a massive overhaul. You now have full control over the display of oil and pollen indicators compared to previous versions. Dozens of minor improvements to the display of indicators have also been made.
5. Profile settings: Added profile settings, this is the same as my other mods. All configuration options are saved in the profile and are saved across save, load and new game. This will allow you to spend less time setting up and more time playing.
- According to this, SKSE 1.07.03+ is now required and now includes PapyrusUtil 3.2.
6. Performance Improvements: Many aspects of the mod have been rewritten in order to improve performance and reduce bugs.
- Most of the mod is now fully event driven.
- Reduced the amount of processing ("heavy scripts") down to a minimum. The refresh cycle only happens when the player uses a lantern using burning oil/pollen consumption. Instead of every 2 seconds, the processing loop now runs every 5 seconds. The rate of oil/pollen consumption remains the same.
- As a rule, the speed and response of the mod has been improved. Cleaned up a ton of codes to bring the quality of the mod up to my current standards.
7. Changed the firefly lantern system: catch a firefly, equip an empty lantern and just click on the firefly. You will place the firefly in the lantern.
8. Lantern oil bottles with less than full amount (1.0, 5.5, etc.) have been removed. The only bottle of lantern oil is a full bottle. When the oil bottle is used, the oil acts as a global "Timer" for all lights until the oil is used up. When the global "oil level" is empty, a new full bottle will be used. (This change greatly reduces system performance and the likelihood of errors.)
9. Item "Pollen" has been removed. Flowers are now used directly, and act as a global timer for all bug lanterns.
- You can now turn your flashlight on/off when using Auto mode.
10 Mod will no longer prevent you from equipping both a torch and a wearable lantern at the same time. (But this is still not recommended, due to the higher chance of visual anomalies.) The mod will prevent you from equipping more than one lantern.
11. Messages that remind you of the amount of oil or a pinch of pollen are now worded using terms such as "Half full", "Almost empty", and so on.
12. Text notifications of 50% and 10% remaining fuel will only be displayed if you have no fuel in your inventory (lantern oil, flowers). The indicator counters will still be displayed briefly if the display mode is set to "Context" in the MCM menu.
13. Companions will now remember the position of the lantern, which was before.
14. You can now set up the SkyUI MCM hotkey using the same key as in the other mod. But there will still be conflict warnings.
15. All lights now act the same when using "Automatic mode".
16. Bug Fix:
- A SEQ file has been added to the mod so that NPC dialogues work instantly.
- Compatibility check on game startup no longer generates papyrus log errors
- In general, the behavior and operation of companion lights has been improved.
- Fixed bugs and crashes related to stealth mode when a companion is wearing a lantern.
- Auto ejection of lit lanterns should now work much more predictably and accurately. The flashlight will almost always fall to the ground when Auto-dropped to the ground, rather than hanging in the air.
17. Notes:
- Glow effects for all lights have been removed in order to improve visual quality and compatibility with ENB modifications. This change makes it so that the Wearable Lanterns - Lighting Fix mod by IcePenguin (http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/64125/?) is no longer needed.
- Mod should still be compatible with Wearable Lanterns SMIM Patch by telamont (http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/34535/?)
- The mod should still be compatible with Glass fix for Chesko's Wearable Lanterns by Uncheat (http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/52348/?)

How to get a travel lantern:
- Traveler's Lanterns can be purchased from almost any general merchandise store, vendors and some smaller vendors, randomly.
- Lanterns can also be crafted by combining a simple lantern and a leather strip at the forge.
- Common Lanterns can now also be crafted with 2 Iron Ingots at the forge, just in case you are having trouble finding Common Lanterns.
- The lantern is by default attached to a hook, on the right side of the belt behind the back. To change the position of your Traveler's Lantern, simply drop it on the ground. A menu will appear allowing you to choose how you want to use your Traveler's Lantern. It can be equipped front right, rear right or you can just hold it in your hand.
- The lantern is crafted in the forge in the "Miscellaneous" section. To make it, you need 1 lamp and strips of leather.
- To activate the lantern, put it on (see inventory in the "Clothes" section).

How to make a firefly lantern:
- A firefly lantern is a little more difficult, first you need to make a simple lantern in the forge in the "Miscellaneous" section or buy or find it, and then catch a firefly in it. (Just get close to the firefly and place it in the jar).
- A lantern with a firefly is hung on a hook on the belt, on the right side of the back, by default. To change the position of your Firefly Lantern, simply drop it on the ground. A menu will appear allowing you to choose how you want to place your Firefly Lantern. It can be equipped front right, rear right or you can just hold it in your hand.

Followers and Lanterns:
- Your lantern can be given to any companion and they will use lanterns under the following circumstances:
1. When outside: at night (from 7pm to 7am)
2. When inside interiors: if the location is safe, then companions will use lanterns in houses, inns, farms, etc., they will use them in crypts, caves, dungeons, etc.
3. Stealth: your companion will turn off or remove the lantern shortly after it starts sneaking
- You will be given new dialogue topics: "About your lantern...." Using this dialogue, you will be able to change the position of the lantern from your companion without having to take the lanterns from them and change on yourself
- Due to game update to version 1.9.32.0.8, you may have to save and reload the game once for the "About your lantern..." dialog to take effect
- If you use the UFO mod or similar mods, then the lanterns can be transferred through dialogue and used by your followers
- If your followers are not using the lanterns you gave them, try firing the companion and hiring again

Miscellaneous:
- Lanterns can be fueled with lantern oil or pollen from flowers, it all depends on what kind of lantern you use, regular or with a firefly.
- In automatic mode, the flashlight will always shine without oil.
- In manual mode, you will need to monitor the amount of oil and pollen supply for the firefly
- Lantern oil can be bought from merchants, and pollen can be collected from flowers
- If you gave a lantern to a companion, it will burn from 7 pm to 7 am, after which it will go out and light up again in the evening. Also, your companion will turn off his flashlight inside illuminated rooms and in stealth mode. To change the way the companion carries the lantern, use the line of the dialog "Regarding your lantern..."

How to change flashlight settings:
- Flashlight settings you can change in the MCM menu, brightness, position and more, as well as automatic switching depending on the time of day, room, stealth mode

As for the indicators on the screen:
- Whether the new headlight indicators will work or not depends on several factors:
1. You must use the latest version of SkyUI 4.1 and higher
2. Is SkyUI installed correctly
3. Whether the "Portable lights" mod is installed correctly.
4. Are you using mods that directly change the position of the compass (iHUD, etc.).
- If you are using the iHUD mod and the indicators from the lights mod are not displayed on the screen, then you may have hidden the indicators.
You have several options to fix this:
1. Set the indicators in "Portable Lights" to "Always On" and set the HUD in iHUD mod to toggle ("Toggle Compass Hotkey"), you will see the indicators every time you press "Compass" hotkey in iHUD mod.
2. Set the HUD in iHUD mod to "SkyUI HUD Always On" and set the indicators in "Portable Lights" to "Always" or "Contextual", the indicators will appear as needed. You can also set other parameters in the iHUD mod to your liking (transparency, compass position, etc.).
- But the main thing is that if you allow the iHUD mod to hide the HUD, you will hide the display of indicators along with it, so play with the settings in both mods and find the solution that you think is the best.
- If SkyUI and Portable Lights are installed correctly and there are no other conflicting mods, then the indicators will work perfectly.

F.A.Q.:
- How to change the position of the flashlight on the body?
- You can change the position of the lantern with a companion by talking to him and select the phrase "About your lantern ..."
- Change the position of the flashlight for GG, go to the MSM menu and set the flashlight change key

The dialogue line "About your lantern ..." does not appear in the game.
- Just exit the game and load again, the dialog will appear

Companion after I gave him a lantern, does not use it
- Wait for the evening, as the lights do not turn on during daylight hours
- Take the lantern from the companion and give the lantern again

Does the light of the lanterns affect your detection or companions?
- Very effective, you must turn off your flashlight when operating in stealth mode or in the MSM menu set as you wish, turn it on manually or automatically, followers will automatically turn off lights in stealth mode

The game has mods for companions, but they do not want to use their lanterns
- Try to just fire your companions and then re-hire them

Adds several types of portable lanterns for traveling through the dark corners of Skyrim. Several options are available so you can customize the flashlight to suit your taste. Change the position and brightness, monitor the oil level or turn on the automatic mode. Use a flashlight or firefly lamp that you can attach to your belt or carry in your hand! Distribute lanterns to your companions, and they will light your way. A traveler's lantern will help you explore the dungeons, and a jar of fireflies will shine even underwater!

With mod 83Willows 101Bugs you can use fireflies of different colors.

Creating a lantern:

1. Lantern traveler crafted in any forge in the "Miscellaneous" section. To make it, you need 1 lamp and strips of leather.
-To activate the lantern, simply equip it (see inventory in the "Clothes" section)
-To adjust the brightness of the lantern, read the book "lantern maintenance guide"
-If you prefer to carry your lantern in your hand, then when attacking you or a companion, the lantern will be automatically thrown to free your hands for combat. After the end of the battle, the lantern will be automatically raised (it is functionally available to select the position in which the lantern will be after auto-raising)
- 3 positions are available: in the left hand, on the back of the belt, in front of the belt
Also, the lantern can be purchased from merchants

2. Lamp with a firefly makes it a little more difficult.
-First you need to buy an empty lamp from the merchant, and then catch a firefly in it.
-To catch an insect, just get close and place it in a jar.
-If you use the 83Willows 101Bugs mod, you can catch a red firefly.
-Available to wear only on the belt (back or front)

For lovers of realism, both types of lanterns are available with recharge functions - oil or pollen, depending on which lantern you use. In automatic mode, the flashlight will shine forever, without any additional effort. In manual mode, you will have to monitor the oil level and pollen supply of the firefly, otherwise the light will dim and go out after a while.
Lamp oil can be bought from merchants, and pollen can be collected from flowers.
Read more in the book "Guide to the care of the lantern"

If you gave a lantern to a satellite, then it will burn from 7 pm to 7 am, after which it will go out and light up again in the evening. Also, your companion will turn off his flashlight inside lit rooms and in stealth mode.
To change the way the lantern is carried by a companion, use the line of the dialog "Regarding your lantern ..."

Update 2.2a:
-Fixed an R03;R03;bug where lanterns worn on the rear right would hang in the air after the player died and reloaded.
-Support for companions from Dawnguard will be added later
FAQ:
What mods is Chesko Wearable Lanterns compatible with?
-With mods for satellites
Ultimate Follower Overhaul (UFO)- all followers
Amazing Follower Tweaks- all followers
Extensible Follower Framework- first 15 satellites
-Full compatibility with all the mods that change the merchants and the economy of Skyrim.
-Portable lights occupy slot 55 (rear right) and slot 57 (front right), just like bags from the Bandolier mod. The author is not going to fix this, because. thinks bandoliers and flashlights look terrible when equipped together. The rest of the bags do not cause conflicts and are quite compatible.
-IMPORTANT: Not compatible with other mods that add lanterns to wear.
Installation:
If you are updating the mod from version 2.2 to version 2.2a you don't need to do anything special - just put the files in the Data folder, agree to the replacement and activate the esp in the launcher.

Upgrading procedure from version 2.1 to version 2.2/2.2a:
If you have followers, dismiss them and save the game.
You don't need to make a "clean" save. Install the mod as usual
(using the Nexus Mod Manager or manually move the files from the archive to the Data folder), load the save you made.
Wait 24 hours of game time.
After that, throw away the old copies of the lantern care manual and buy a new one.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - Portable Lanterns

Game platform: TES V: Skyrim Legendary Edition

Name: Wearable Lanterns

Russian name: Portable lights

Current version: 4.0.2

Mod language: Russian

The size: 2.6 MB

Description

The modification adds to Skyrim the ability to equip your character and NPCs with portable lanterns, which will not be out of place during your wanderings. Lighting devices can be hung in a belt or taken in hand. They are tight enough for swimming under water, and in some cases, a firefly caught and planted inside can serve as a source of illumination. A very useful mod, for example, when exploring dungeons, since the light from the lantern is much brighter than what comes from the torch.

Receipt

  • Traveler's Lanterns can be purchased from almost any general merchandise store, vendors, and some smaller vendors, by chance.
  • Lanterns can also be crafted by combining a simple lantern and a leather strip at a forge.

Screen indicators

  • Whether the new headlight indicators will work or not depends on several factors:
    1. You must use the latest version of SkyUI 4.1.
    2. Is SkyUI 4.1 installed correctly.
    3. Is the Portable Lanterns mod installed correctly?
