Smartphone Oukitel K6000 Plus: owner reviews, specifications. Design and detailed inspection

Hello friends. If you are still looking for a smartphone with excellent autonomy and you do not want to charge the device every day, then today we will consider a very interesting option from the OUKITEL brand, the K6000 PLUS model. It has an eight-core processor, 4 Gb of RAM, a 16MP camera, Android 7.0, and a 6080 mAh battery. Cons are also present.

OUKITEL stands out from the crowd in the smartphone market. Mainly due to the fact that they install honest, high-capacity batteries. Previously, the company focused only on this, but the K6000 PLUS is a slightly different story.

Contents of delivery

It comes in a bright orange box with the company logo and key features listed. Inside the box, in addition to the smartphone, there is an instruction manual, a paper clip to remove the tray, a branded protective film for the screen. At the bottom of the box, there are two compartments with tongues, under which there is an OTG cable, a charging cable and a power adapter.

The parameters are very interesting, but more on that later. Another nice bonus in the kit is a silicone case with a diamond-shaped notch, which was present on the smartphone. Shipping films are also available. After removing the front one, it turned out that there is a main one on the screen, which can also be attributed to pluses, and it is glued well. Well, the first impression is pleasant. With such a battery, honestly, a huge brick was expected, but it turns out that not at all.

Appearance

The case is metallic and the color resembles Redmi 4, Redmi Pro S from Xiaomi. Plastic inserts only in the upper and lower parts, under the antenna. Due to the beveled chamfer, it is comfortable to hold in your hand, does not slip and feels confident. In the front part, at the top, there is a front camera, a proximity sensor, light sensor, an event indicator, and an auditory speaker.

From the bottom there is an interesting situation, there are two touch buttons, they have symbols and adaptive backlight, if you touch it lightly, the backlight becomes brighter, quite convenient. The central button is mechanical, and at the same time it is a fingerprint scanner. From the bottom, there is symmetry, a micro USB connector, and two holes for the main speaker, although the sound comes only from the right one.

On the top is a 3.5 mm jack, on the left is a combo slot for micro SD or two nano sim cards. On the right is the volume rocker, and the power-lock button of the smartphone. On the back is a 16MP camera and flash.

Out of the box, the user has access to the Android 7.0 operating system, referred to as Nougat. When you turn it on, you need to go through a quick setup, there are many language packs, including Russian and Ukrainian, to choose from.

Screen

OUKITEL K6000 PLUS is equipped with a 5.5-inch display with a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels, 401 ppi. Made using LTPS technology providing high levels of brightness, sharpness and color reproduction.

Naturally, there are no problems with viewing angles. The display itself is made using 2.5 D technology, the edges are slightly rounded, called Dragontrail glass. Stocks of brightness are good in both directions. There is an adaptive backlight, and Mira vision applications are responsible for adjusting the brightness in the smartphone, as in many others.

Software hardware

Out of the box, we get Android 7.0, in which the Launcher has been redesigned and the icons have been redrawn. There are several additional features in the settings, and a second space is also provided, as in the MIUI shell from Xiaomi. Unlock with gestures, watch videos on top of other windows. The built-in Recorder program, which allows you to record actions on the screen, and many more useful and small chips.

Technical filling

The device is powered by an energy-efficient 8-core MEDIA TEK MT 6750T processor with a maximum clock frequency of 1.5 Hz. It works in tandem with the GPU-video chip Mali 860, while on board 4 Gb of RAM, and a built-in storage of 64 Gb. If this is not enough, then expansions are provided, up to 64 Gb.

Synthetic tests

In AnTuTu, OUKITEL K6000 PLUS scored 45,000 points, which will be more than enough to work and play with most games. Although the MT 6750T processor is not new, and is rarely installed on 5.5-inch devices with Full HD resolutions. In GeekBench, the single-core test showed 617 points, and the multi-core test scored 2700.

Epic Citadel showed 40 fps on ultra high settings and 54.5 on high settings. The WI-FI signal module works well, the speed test showed decent results. Works with all 4G networks in Russia, connects to satellites quickly, keeps in touch well. As a navigator, the screen is 5.5 inches, you can use it.

K6000 PLUS in games

If you want to play, no problem, installing Asphalt 8, along with downloading the 1.3 Gb cache, took about three minutes. At maximum settings with blur, no freezes, no lags. Due to the side frames, it is convenient to play. There is no heating, even after an hour of playing the smartphone was barely warm.

Camera

We got to the most interesting parameters, this is the camera and autonomy. If the previous version had a terrible camera, then the manufacturers decided to completely eliminate this problem, and equipped the smartphone with a PLUS prefix, or rather, an improved camera, which is now based on the Only Vision 16880 sensor with a resolution of 16MP, with phase detection autofocus and a pixel size of one micrometer.

There are no detailed settings in the shell, but it is possible to take a beauty photo, and this function, in this case, works well. Manufacturers also focused on it during the presentation.

Focusing is fast, according to the statement it works in 0.1 second, in reality it will not work, but really, without problems, it focuses. Of the advantages, I note excellent macro photography, the presence of a manual mode for adjusting ISO, exposure and lighting mode. Looking at some of the photos, it's hard to believe that they were taken on a smartphone in this price category.

Front camera on honest 8 megapixels. Photo of decent quality, I can not say anything bad.

As for the video, the recording resolution is Full HD, while electronic stabilization is provided, which will smooth out hand shaking.

autonomy

The main feature of this smartphone and the brand as a whole is autonomy. The prefix 6000 in the name of the model reflects the capacity of the battery built into it. There are models with similar batteries on the market, but OUKITEL added the ability to *fast charge MTK PAMP Express 12V and 2A current. This makes it possible to charge from 1 to 100% in one hundred minutes. At the same time, there is a test that 5 minutes of charging is enough for 2 hours of talking.

Everything is balanced perfectly, I tried to discharge the battery all day, conducted many different tests, watched YouTube, an hour of playing asphalt 8. From the box it was 50%, and after all these manipulations, twenty percent remained by the end of the day. That is, for 3-4 days the smartphone will live on a railway. Everything has a battery saving mode.

And taking into account the fact that it charges in less than two hours, this is a very tangible difference for those who are forced to charge their smartphone every day.

For me, autonomy is a huge plus. AnTuTu battery test showed a result of as much as 9500 points. Watching YouTube videos in Full HD quality emptied the battery by 15% in an hour at maximum screen brightness. Good result.

Flaws

In addition to all the advantages, there are, of course, disadvantages that immediately, for me personally, caught my eye. This is a volume swing, it is not tightly located, there is a play in the hole, which creates some kind of rattling when you shake your smartphone. Although the problem is insignificant, it can cause discomfort to someone.

Another negative, in my personal opinion, is not a loud main speaker. I'm not saying that the sound is bad, but I still lack one or two volume positions. I would like to add a couple more positions and everything will be fine. Although the situation is different in headphones, the sound is good, an IW 8736 amplifier is installed.

And if we really find fault, then there is a minor inconsistency, plastic inserts for the antenna, and the main metal case. Perhaps this is such an idea, but not for perfectionists.

Review Conclusions

What do we have as a result? The OUKITEL K6000 PLUS smartphone turned out to be quite balanced in terms of characteristics, pluses and minuses. The 6080mAh battery deserves great attention, fast charging, more than, a good camera for this price segment, a metal case, a front-facing fingerprint scanner. Touch buttons with adaptive backlight, support for all networks, no large black frames around the screen. The screen matrix itself, Android 7 out of the box, in Russian.

It is not known what problems will arise in the future, but after a week's test, so far so good. If there were some hard jambs, then I think they would show up. And so the price-quality, functionality is good. This model will find its user on the market.

Back in 2015, Oukitel released their new long-lived smartphone "K6000", which, as you might guess, had a 6000mAh battery installed. The following year, the manufacturer announced the "heir" - K6000 Pro, with slightly improved performance and all with the same 6 thousand milliamp battery. And, of course, the Chinese did not stop at this model, and now we have the third smartphone in the line - K6000 Plus, all with the same (although not, not the same) 6080mAh battery and still with slightly improved technical characteristics, relative to the previous model. And although I didn’t mention, these smartphones are considered one of the top ones from Oukitel, which can be understood by the price. Whether the smartphone lives up to at least some expectations, I will try to reveal in the review.

Characteristics

So, in order not to be verbose, I made a small table comparing the main characteristics of all three smartphones of this line:

As can be seen from the table, with each new model, smartphones have increased the amount of memory, both operational and built-in, and camera modules have also been updated. The rest of the changes, even including the processor, are not so conspicuous. But, in general, the K6000 Plus quite "keeps the bar" for 2017 - it looks normal against the background of competitors in terms of characteristics. Although, of course, for the money that is asked for it, there are smartphones from more eminent manufacturers, Xiaomi, for example, which already have better characteristics, not to mention the trust in the company. Nevertheless, there are many smartphones and the K6000 Plus, again, looks competitive.

Packing and scope of delivery

Oukitel K6000 Plus comes in the most standard orange box for the company, and no frills - there is only the Oukitel logo on the front side and a sticker with the characteristics on the back. It’s a similar box for the same budget models of the “C” series, differing only in materials and “finishing” inside. And if everything looks budget there, then, in principle, it’s appropriate - the smartphone is in a plastic bag in the recess and lies on some kind of “envelope” with a special tongue to make it easier to remove the smartphone. At the bottom of the envelope there are two compartments with all the accessories.

The smartphone in the same package comes with a transparent silicone case already on, and in addition to paper documentation such as a warranty card, brief instructions, an additional film on the screen and a paper clip to remove the SIM and MicroSD card slots located in the envelope, the box contains:
- USB charging at 5/7/9/12V and 2.0A
- MicroUSB cable
- OTG cable
For complete happiness, as they say, there are not enough just some headphones. And, fortunately, they were not here either :)
The whole set is pictured below:

More.
I already mentioned the fact that the smartphone is “pulled out” of the box with a case, but there is nothing special here - it is the most common, there are almost any smartphone similar to one dollar on Ali. Nevertheless, the presence of this in the configuration is nice.

Since the battery is claimed to be more than 6000mAh, fast charging is indispensable. Unfortunately, nowhere is it stated whether any special technology for fast charging is used here, and only a special 12V / 2A charger is mentioned. More precisely - myACT Fast Charger. The only one of its kind, since on the Internet for this request only this charge can be found.
UPD: apparently, it uses Mediatek Pump Express Plus technology

MicroUSB cable and OTG are the most common, both are white. Like everything else - the color of the smartphone.

Well, it's a sin not to show the manual. The most interesting thing is to read safety precautions in broken Russian.

Design and detailed inspection.

First, a small digression - a shipping film with the Oukitel logo is pasted on the smartphone from the box. It is matte, so without removing it, using a smartphone is not very convenient, and not very pleasant - it can be said to be rough and spoil the colors. Under it, there is already the most common film, although there are complaints about it - it is slightly smaller than the screen and is glued imperfectly. But the film is a film, and behind ... it is also :). But here the designations of slots, controls are applied, there are some warnings and, most importantly, there is a sticker with IMEI's right there.

Now let's move on to the smartphone itself. Externally and in white Oukitel K6000 Plus can resemble many smartphones. And, as for me, it is in white that it most of all looks like some model from Meizu, for example. But all these similarities are only because of the oval Home button below the display. It is worth noting that outwardly it is the main difference between the K6000 Plus and last year's models, it was not there at all.

Photo:

Personally, I like this design. The white color of the case harmonizes well with the screen. Although it is impossible not to notice that around the perimeter of the display there is a black frame of not the smallest sizes. But it still looks pretty consistent. But one can argue about the back cover - it is of "gold" color. I do not really understand why make a white version of a smartphone with only one color of the back cover - gold. I doubt that many people like this combination, while most often you can see combinations of white with gray (light gray). But to add something other than the fact that Oukitel most often offers its other models in this color, there is nothing. Unless - the shade of this "gold" is quite difficult to convey correctly, but in the photo below it most of all corresponds to reality.

In general, design is a subjective matter, so I will continue - in the upper part of the front panel there is a front camera, a speaker, sensors (proximity and light) and ... an LED indicator as standard.

More detailed photos:

At the bottom there is only a mechanical home button, which is also a fingerprint scanner.

Let's go to the edges. Only the audio jack is located on the top edge:

On the bottom is a microUSB for charging, a mono speaker and a microphone.

On the right side placed the volume rocker and the power button. The buttons are pressed clearly, do not play.

The slot for SIM-cards (or for SIM and MicroSD cards) is located on the left side. Usually this “carriage” is not always well and tightly installed in the smartphone case, but there is no such drawback here. Installs inward with a click and tight.

Finishing the external inspection, the turn of the back cover. I already wrote about her not the most standard color, so it remains to consider it in more detail. At the top, as usual, there is a slightly protruding rear camera eye and a single LED flash. It is strange that despite its thickness (which is 9.6mm), the smartphone still has a protruding camera, about one millimeter. The steel rim, of course, will protect it, but nothing will completely protect the camera from scratches. Also, only a single flash is a little upsetting.

There is nothing interesting on the bottom of the back cover. But as you can see in the photo above, the smartphone has two plastic inserts on top and bottom for better signal reception.

***

Build quality and materials smartphone is good. These plastic inserts do not protrude anywhere and fit snugly against the case. A very careful examination did not find any defects in the case, which are usually often found in such smartphones (for example, small factory scratches or small chips). All in all, the K6000 Plus feels like a solid smartphone right out of the box, as it should for a $150+ smartphone.

As for convenience use - despite the rather large size and steel case, which does not contribute to convenience, like the same soft-touch or ordinary plastic, the smartphone lies well in the hand. Largely due to the beveled edges. But, of course, not everyone will be comfortable using a smartphone with a 5.5 "screen, although this is more of a matter of habit. Another photo in hand to estimate the size:

Display.

Yes, as I mentioned a little higher, the smartphone has a 5.5" display with FHD (1080x1920) resolution. The specifications indicate an IPS matrix, the matrix manufacturer is AU Optronics.

The screen made a good impression on me. When you turn it on for the first time, you can most often immediately notice some deviations, such as too cold shades or a faded image. But here, despite the fact that manufacturers continue to put almost black wallpapers on the desktop, which will show themselves well only on Amoled matrices, it was immediately clear that the image is quite pleasant and without significant distortion.

In this photo, little is visible, but this is the maximum that the camera managed to achieve :)

As for the brightness - the maximum is enough to see something on the screen in bright sunlight, but the minimum is not surprising. I would even say dazzling :)

As for the viewing angles, here I liked the smartphone just the first time I turned it on, because on a black background it is easiest to determine the quality of the display on a black background. Even with a strong deviation, the colors are practically not inverted. It can be seen that IPS.

First inclusion. OS.

The smartphone has almost the latest version - Android 7.0. Of course, there was a pre-installed launcher from Oukitel. All it changes is removing the application menu and redesigning the multitasking window. And if the first is easily removed by installing a third-party launcher, such as Google Start, then the second does not change. But this is not so significant.

There are not many pre-installed applications out of the box - only QRCode Scan and Youtube can be singled out separately. It is very pleasing that the Chinese have decided not to stuff the smartphone with many regional and, most often, non-working applications. As for the screenshots (and subsequent ones) - the font seems to be not smoothed on them, but in reality everything is fine. Just for a better display, screenshots have to be reduced in size.

In the paragraph “about the phone”, the manufacturer decided to add information about some of the characteristics of the smartphone. Of course, all the added items were left without Russification. As you can see in the screenshots below, the smartphone is running firmware from April 8, and out of 64GB of internal memory, a little less than 54GB is available. On average, a little more than two gigabytes of RAM is free.

Even for those who first encountered the seventh android, there is nothing particularly new to tell here. This version looks practically no different from the sixth and fifth versions, except for a more "flat" design. Many differences at the software level, about which there is also no particular point in mentioning. But I can show the easter egg of this version - a game similar to "Pokemon Go", which is activated in the same way as in other versions of the system. After starting, a small cat icon will appear, which indicates that the game is running. It is not clear what happens next, since there are no instructions or details in the system. But to continue, you need to open the notification curtain and in its settings you can add the "Easter Egg" icon. After adding, open the curtain back and click on the icon - the choice of "bait" will appear. We choose something and now all that remains is to wait.

After a while, a cat will appear in the notification curtain :)
In my experience - after collecting more than 200 cats (and as far as I know, there are at least 1000 of them), viewing them starts to lag very much. The list stops responding and eventually closes with an error. And I've had it for almost a year now. But, maybe there is no such problem here, only it will not be possible to check it soon - cats do not come so often :)

The same mistake

On Nexus 5X with 7.1.2

Not the most useful information, but maybe someone was interested :)

Let's continue. In addition to the fact that not everything is fine with Russification, just look here:

In the settings, you can still find interesting items. For example, a fingerprint scanner. In the latest versions of android, software support for this function was added, so the Chinese did not have to make / look for a third-party application to configure it. Everything is done as standard and already through the most common smartphone settings:

He works well. It works very quickly, though sometimes it happens that not the first time. But here it depends more on the fact that you need to get used to it and its location, since it is not always possible to put your thumb normally on the button right under the center of the screen. To unlock, by the way, the button can be both pressed and touched. But it’s more tactile to press, and not just touch, so there is confidence that you put your finger there :)

But what pleasantly surprised me - the manufacturer decided to tighten up a bit and add a couple of interesting features with this scanner. For example, you can put the "back" action on the scanner, and it will be triggered by a normal (and any) touch on the button. That is, the scanner will fix any typos, not a specific one. You can also set the camera shutter release to hold your finger on the scanner (without pressing) or, for example, to hang up a call. More details about all this can be seen in the screenshots below. Not to say that there are many functions, but they are really applicable in everyday use.

Another interesting feature in the settings is the LED indicator setting. And it seems that at the first viewing there is nothing useful in its settings, but this is not so - when notifications are missed, the diode blinks very strongly in blue. In the same way as with a low charge (15% and below), the red diode flashes. And since it is really bright, it can be annoying and prevent you from using your smartphone at night, for example. It's good that the manufacturer took care of this. This is not the case everywhere, as far as I know.

What does an LED look like?

Even here, the developers have added another interesting and useful feature - screen recording directly from the notification curtain, with one touch. I think this function does not need special details. The quality of the recording corresponds to the displayed picture. In general, this is a very good surprise - far from everywhere you meet the opportunity to make a screen recording so simply. The only pity is that there are no settings, and the video is recorded without sound.

Another thing I would like to show in the system is the multi-window mode. It may seem that it has been added for a very long time, but, in fact, it began to fully work with Android 7.0. It may also seem that it is not needed at all, but it is very convenient, as I myself was convinced. To launch it, you need to click on the context menu button once and a list of recently launched applications will open (here, by the way, you can see the changes made by the Oukitel launcher - they added a semblance of "Clean Master"), then just hold your finger on the desired application and drag it to the top of the screen. At the bottom, you can select another application.

Thus, you can safely watch, for example, a video, and at the same time search for something on the Internet. Many applications can be imagined.

As for updates, Oukitel does not stand out in terms of timely updates, and having installed the seventh version of android, they are unlikely to remember K6000 Plus when new versions are released (not counting 7.1+). However, the smartphone has a dedicated app for checking for updates, and you can expect a couple of patches. In the application settings, you can even adjust the frequency of checking for updates.

So, what can be said about the operation of the smartphone as a whole - during the time of use (almost two weeks), I did not have a single crash of the application. Although on such smartphones the same Google Play can often fly out. But due to the fact that this is practically the latest version of android, where things are better with optimization for such smartphones than in previous versions, then everything works quite smoothly and quickly. Personally, I didn’t like here only the pre-installed launcher and the lack of on-screen buttons, to which I was corny used. The rest of the system here, surprisingly, without serious "jambs", not counting the clumsy Russification.

Tests.

This is probably already a rather boring aspect in smartphones. Of course, every year the power is increasing and increasing, but there were no demanding applications and games, and still are not. Therefore, I will be brief: the smartphone has an 8-core 64bit MTK MT6750T processor with 4 Cortex A53 cores at 1.5GHz and 4 cores at 1.0GHz. As you can see in the photo-comparison of the characteristics, the processor in the K6000 Plus is not far from last year's model, where the MT6753 was installed on the same eight cores with a frequency of 1.3GHz. The main difference lies in the improved video accelerator - our “hero of the review” has the Mali-T860MP2 with a core frequency of 650MHz. Well, all this complements, of course, 4GB of DDR3 RAM.

And now the tests.

More details in Antutu:

AIDA64 for details:

Below in the screenshot you can see information about Wi-Fi. As you can see, the 5GHz band is not supported.

Touching on the topic of wireless networks - Wi-Fi works without failures. There are no problems with speed either.

With GPS, everything is also fine - in an apartment for 20-30 seconds, a smartphone finds 8-9 satellites, twice as many on the street. At the first start, the location was determined for a long time, but after that everything was fast.

Now let's continue with performance tests - 3DMark (two main tests for FHD):

Geekbench, where you can compare performance with other processors. You can see that this MT6750T is somewhere at the level of rather old top-end Qualcomm "ohms. Which, again, does not prevent these "old" processors from being on the level today.

CPU performs better:

Epic Citadel on three graphics settings:

Frankly, this is far from a top-end stuffing, and for almost $ 200 you can find options on almost top-end processors from the same MTK. But just as bluntly speaking - such options will be redundant. Here the filling is quite consistent with the smartphone and there are no problems in terms of performance and should not happen in the near future.

Camera.

In previous models of this series, interpolation was used, and this alone did not make it possible to assess the quality. Yes, and it is worth recognizing that the use of interpolation itself does not say anything good. But in the case of the K6000 Plus, things seem to be better - the rear camera is a 16MP OmniVision16880 module, while the front camera is 8MP, Hynix Hi-846. The main camera module is impressive. Although, we all know that most often it's not about hardware, but about optimization and software stuffing. The photos themselves depend on the skill of the hands, but this is no longer the topic :)

The first thing I look at when turning on the camera on Chinese devices is the same application with incomprehensible settings, such as some incomprehensible stabilization, ZSD and the rest. It's still not clear to me what's the problem with putting "Google Camera" with a normal interface as the main camera application. Unless it is prohibited by Google itself, but I don’t know this, so I won’t undertake to talk in more detail. I’d better continue - yes, that incomprehensible camera is standing here. But, surprisingly (although not so big anymore, because the manufacturer has made changes in many places, as it turns out), the application here looks a little different from others and the interface is much more convenient. Actually, everything can be seen in the screenshots below. Where you can even notice the presence of a manual mode.

The settings are the same as before. I recommend disabling all unnecessary and unknown features.

Video settings:

And there is a set of filters :)

***

Examples. I will not be verbose - in good light, especially in clear weather, the photos come out good. When approaching, there is almost no noticeable oversharp, which most Chinese smartphones suffer from. There are no problems with color reproduction either. But with overexposure - there is. In the camera, I never found an HDR mode, and without it, you have to look either at overexposed areas or at dark ones. Other than that, the pictures are amazing. Below I will leave a link to download the originals, but for now I will show some examples (here they are reduced, since full sizes are not loaded):

artificial lighting:

Macro examples:

But if in the daytime the pictures could surprise, then in the dark, nothing good, alas, came of it. Lots of noise, hard to focus and a lot of "soap". Although from a distance it looks more or less.

And the flash didn't work. When autofocusing, it seems that a good photo will come out, but in the end it turns out to be very overexposed. The timings don't match. You can only hope for a patch.
For clarity, here is a photo of what happened (and, frankly, it is far from “good”):

And here's what it showed before the picture:

Yes, I would like to say a few words about video shooting - a lot of places indicate the presence of 4K video, which is logical, because the module supports it. But in the quality selection settings (exactly the place where you have to choose between High and Good quality), the maximum resolution can be obtained by selecting "Good quality", and this is 1920x1080. Logically, "High Quality" should be 4K, but here it's 720p. As for the quality of this very video - here the situation, for some reason, is very different from the situation with the photo part. During the day, the videos come out very blurry, and you can also notice that there are problems with the frame rate. At night - everything is the same, but several times worse. True, instead, it is enough just to say that the video is recorded here in 3gp. Survived :)

Example one.

Example two. In the dark time of the day.

Battery.

Let's start with advertising posters: a non-removable SCUD battery at 6080mAh.

Fast charging, capable of charging a smartphone 100% in 100 minutes:

And although everything is fine on "paper", the situation here is the same as with the cameras. So almost the main thing is optimization. I already had several Chinese smartphones, including Oukitel models, where there was one big problem - a strong discharge in standby mode. Here, fortunately, there is no such thing. For 16 hours with Wi-Fi and mobile data on, only 6% of the charge was used.

And at the time of writing the review, the smartphone in the same mode (Wi-Fi and communication) has been working for the fifth day, and this is with the remaining 40 percent. So I can safely say that there are no problems with power consumption in standby mode.

As for the active mode of use - here the smartphone was able to squeeze out almost 7 hours of continuous screen operation, at maximum brightness. Wi-Fi was on all the time and the connection worked. I used my smartphone for a variety of things: from watching videos on Youtube to simply checking email. As a result of such an intense load, the smartphone worked for more than a day and this is a very good result. In addition, I doubt that many people look at the smartphone screen for seven hours a day.

And yes, the manufacturer also did not bypass this item and add a special power saving mode, which is activated when the charge is low. In this mode, only a couple of functions are available, and those related only to communication - dialing, messages and selecting a contact from the contact book. I saw something similar on some Samsungs, although it was much more useful there thanks to the Amoled screen. However, even here this mode helps to save battery by turning off all unnecessary processes.

Conclusion.

Let me summarize.

Among the advantages of a smartphone, I can highlight:
- good display quality
- the presence of an LED indicator
- good optimization coupled with 7.0 android
- 4/64GB is more than enough
- nevertheless, the scanner is well implemented here
- sound. Not "like a bucket"
- of course, the operating time and fast charging
- loud speaker and no connection problems

Neutral:
- quality of materials and assembly
- weight and dimensions
- wireless network
- performance (enough)
- price

Did not like:
- camera. Photos are good during the day, but not at night. Video is mediocre, flash problem
- bad Russification. But it's bearable
- few sensors

Well ... using a smartphone, I managed to highlight everything that I summarized above. The smartphone has a really good display, which is not surprising for its cost, but you should not take it for granted either, because the Chinese can still be tricky. That's exactly what they did with the firmware - they added a couple of useful features, such as gestures for a scanner or one-touch screen recording. And to add to all this is a good multimedia component. Probably, this phrase characterizes the smartphone best of all - everything is fine with the sound, which, although I did not mention in the review, but which pleasantly surprised me; good filling that copes with all tasks; well, the battery - 7 hours of screen operation in active mode does not even need comments.
I didn't like the camera the most. All she can do is take good photos in good light. The manufacturer tried to set up the application, but apart from the interface, nothing has changed. As a result, there are no normal videos, no photos with a flash, not to mention photos in low light conditions. Otherwise, much to my surprise, I can’t say that the smartphone has serious drawbacks. At least I didn't find them.

Of course, for such money, more proven brands like Xiaomi can participate in choosing a smartphone, and Oukitel is unlikely to be able to compete with them. However, this smartphone may be of interest, but in its own way. So I hope the review will be useful :)

Smartphones of the Chinese brand "Oukitel" are infrequent guests in the domestic market of mobile gadgets. Over the past couple of years, the company has released three phones of the K6000 series, distinguished primarily by their capacious 6080 mAh batteries. The latest model of the series, Oukitel K6000 Plus (Android 7.0/MTK6750T), is noteworthy and most practical. Reviews about it, albeit ambiguous, but the gadget deserves attention and careful consideration.

In general, such a low demand for Oukitel products is due to not quite competent, or rather, unacceptable pricing policy for Russian realities. Those who prefer devices in the mid-price segment (more than 15 thousand rubles) consider the brand's models too modest and mediocre for themselves, and admirers of budget models (less than 10 thousand rubles) do not want to spend an extra couple of thousand of their hard-earned money on some kind of unnecessary "chips" that you can easily do without. Therefore, the Oukitel K6000 Plus smartphone is stuck at a crossroads with a price tag of 11 thousand rubles, even after the “stuffing” has been significantly improved compared to previous generations. Despite this, the device, albeit not with such success as its competitors, is on sale, and we will try to figure out why.

So, the hero of today's review is the Oukitel K6000 Plus smartphone. User reviews, gadget characteristics, as well as its advantages and disadvantages will be discussed in our article.

Equipment

The device comes in a bright orange box made of thick cardboard, specific to Okitel. The design is meager: the brand logo is depicted on the front and on the ends, and a brief specification on the back, which shows the most remarkable characteristics of the Oukitel K6000 Plus. Dealer entourage in the face of stickers, barcodes and labels can be seen around the entire perimeter of the box.

Contents of delivery:

  • phone Oukitel K6000 Plus;
  • power adapter;
  • micro USB cord;
  • Silicone Case;
  • OTG cable;
  • clip for trays with cards;
  • manual;
  • warranty obligations.

Relatively good equipment for a budget model. Judging by the feedback from the owners of the Oukitel K6000 Plus, they were especially pleased to have the really necessary OTG cable and case. It's good that the manufacturer did not include a headset in the kit, because in this price segment it is simply not needed. Headphones "for show" to a large extent affect the cost of the entire gadget, but by and large they are of no use, so it is much more practical to shift the purchase of a headset onto the shoulders of consumers - they themselves will choose what they need.

Appearance

Oukitel K6000 Plus has a classic design - a monoblock with a touch screen. Looking at a bunch of other mobile gadgets, you can’t call a smartphone light and thin. The device has quite impressive dimensions - 77 x 155 x 9.5 mm and weighs 208 grams. Such unpretentiousness is a retribution for a capacious, as well as a massive, rechargeable battery.

Despite its size, in customer reviews of the Oukitel K6000 Plus there are practically no negative reviews regarding ergonomics: the device fits comfortably in the palm of your hand and you can operate it with one hand with proper comfort. Yes, fragile female hands on weight will have a hard time with such a mass, but only while watching videos or games, and during conversations that last no more than ten minutes, the impressiveness of the device is not felt.

The design of the gadget is dominated by aluminum alloy, and plastic inserts can be seen at the top and bottom of the cover, where the antennas are located. The case pleasantly cools the hand and inspires confidence, so calling the Oukitel K6000 Plus a budget model is out of the question.

Interfaces

On the front panel in the upper part there is a familiar set: a front camera peephole, an LED event indicator and a light sensor. The indicator is barely noticeable, and in bright daylight it is almost invisible. By the way, the events for which he will be responsible can be selected in the settings.

The lower part of the front panel is occupied by a physical Home button, which is also a fingerprint scanner. On the sides are touch buttons "Back" and "Context menu". On this occasion, the owners leave mixed reviews about the Oukitel K6000 Plus phone, because in previous generations this key was not there, but there were familiar touch buttons. Those who used Samsungs, Homtoms or other similar gadgets with the same physical control did not experience any problems with the innovation, while the rest considered such a solution to be superfluous and did not live up to expectations.

Also, many owners in their reviews of the Oukitel K6000 Plus smartphone complained about the too dim backlight of the touch keys: even in a dark room it is very difficult to see the outlines, and you have to poke your fingers at random.

I am glad that the designers have added functionality to the fingerprint scanner. Now the sensor supports gestures: for example, with a single tap, you can pause the track being played or play the selected one. As for the operation of the scanner itself, there are no serious questions to it. Judging by the reviews of the Oukitel K6000 Plus, users rate the recognition accuracy at 9 out of 10 points, which is more than acceptable for a device in this price category.

In the upper rear part of the device, you can see the peephole of the main camera (16 megapixels), a duplicated LED flash. There is nothing at the bottom, only the brand logo and the address of the Internet resource.

On the right side are the power button and the volume rocker. The latter, judging by the reviews of the Oukitel K6000 Plus, has a little backlash - unpleasant, but not critical. The left side is occupied by a hybrid interface for two nano-SIM cards (or one SD and SIM cards).

At the top is a standard 3.5 mm mini-jack audio jack. The bottom end is reserved for a micro-USB output, and on the sides of it are two decorative perforated grilles: behind one is a microphone, and behind the other is an external speaker. By the way, users in their reviews of the Oukitel K6000 Plus have repeatedly complained about ill-conceived perforations. On the one hand, yes, this adds to the attractiveness of the gadget, and on the other hand, holes are clogged, and in order to get “pocket” dirt out of them, you need to arm yourself with a needle or thin tweezers, that is, simply shaking the phone will not help here.

Assembly

As for the assembly, users have no serious complaints about the smartphone: nothing creaks, does not play (except for the volume rocker) and does not crackle. All the details are fitted to each other, so there are no gaps either.

The device comes in two different colors: a light panel - a golden back cover, and a black panel - a gray cover. Judging by the reviews of the Oukitel K6000 Plus, the latter solution looks noticeably prettier and more solid. But looking at the design part as a whole, we can say that we have a typical representative of the budget segment, of which there are hundreds on store shelves.

Screen

The device has a good IPS-matrix with a high screen resolution (Full HD) and a good angular view. Oukitel K6000 Plus received a 5.5-inch display, where the scan in 1920 by 1080 px looks quite acceptable. A dot density of 401 ppi allows you to work comfortably on the device, and you won’t be able to see individual pixels, even if you really want to.

The display itself is protected by a 2.5D class Asahi Glass Dragontrail glass panel. In addition, a factory film is additionally glued to the device. although mediocre, it is available both on film and on glass, and it does not interfere with the review in any way. Oukitel K6000 Plus supports OGS technology, so there are no air gaps between the protective screen and the display.

Matrix features

The reserves of the maximum and minimum brightness levels of the matrix are at an average level. The first parameter allows you to work more or less tolerably in direct sunlight, and the second one blinds your eyes a little in a dark room, so you shouldn’t sin on auto-tuning - it really is, and automation has nothing to do with it. Contrast fluctuates within 560 units at an average brightness, which is quite acceptable for this price category.

As for the viewing angles, they are maximum for an IPS matrix, so you can watch a video or look through a gallery of pictures in the company of one or two like-minded people. The only thing worth noting is that even with a slight change in the angle, the picture looks a little dim, that is, a certain percentage of brightness is lost.

Generally speaking, the factory calibration of the matrix is frankly bad, and it’s better to redo all this with special utilities (administrator rights are needed), so the screen characteristics cannot be called the strength of the smartphone.

Performance

The set of chipsets, although budgetary, is quite modern for the Oukitel K6000 Plus: 4 GB of RAM, a Mediatek MT6750T series processor with eight Cortex-A53 cores, a Mali-T860 video accelerator and an internal drive of 64 GB.

As a rule, the budget segment of gadgets is equipped with 2 GB of RAM, so here we have a clear advantage over competing counterparts. In the process of work, a little more than 2 GB out of 4 is available to the user, and this is an excellent indicator, so there are simply no problems with a lack of RAM.

The Oukitel K6000 Plus has 64Gb of internal memory, which is enough for ordinary users. But even if such a volume is not enough, then it can be expanded by installing an external SD card, up to 256 GB.

Tests

The results in benchmarks are average if we compare the performance of a smartphone with a similar budget brotherhood. With so much RAM, some kind of "Snapdragon" of the eight hundredth series would obviously be useful, but then the price would definitely exceed the mark of 15 thousand rubles.

Here we have a quite stable and acceptable frame rate in most modern games, but in serious and "heavy" applications, we have to reset the graphics settings to medium or even minimal values. Otherwise, friezes and numerous lags appear.

As for the interface, everything is perfect here: applications open quickly, tables and icons respond smoothly and there are no brakes when scrolling. There are also no problems with multimedia and web surfing: everything plays, whistles and puffs, as the developer intended. In addition, even under a heavy load on the chipsets, the smartphone case does not heat up, which is good news.

Platform

Works Oukitel K6000 Plus on Android 7.0. Reviews about the platform are ambiguous, because the system is still raw, and besides, it is clumsily localized in places, so you should not be surprised to see foreign speech in the Russian masses.

Stock, even the newest firmware, alas, does not solve the problem, but on specialized resources you can find amateur options that are no worse than official ones in terms of content, but with normal Russification.

Users in their reviews expressed special gratitude to the manufacturer for the "clean" operating system. A good half of budget gadgets are littered with advertising and sponsored applications, unlike our hero, where there are no heaps of useless pre-installed programs.

cameras

The smartphone received two cameras. It makes no sense to consider the frontal one at 8 megapixels, because it can be said not to be: the most modest characteristics of the matrix allow you to make only a high-quality avatar, but with grief in half to talk on a video messenger and that's it.

The main camera received an OmniVision 16880 series matrix with a resolution of 16 megapixels. Here we have autofocus, duplicated LED flash and an f2/0 lens. The control interface does not shine with a variety of functionality - everything is according to the standard and without any original "chips".

The rear camera does a good job of shooting landscapes in the daytime. Of course, there are some problems, such as unstable focus and loss of sharpness at the edges of the image, but in general, the output image is quite decent.

Shooting Features

Close-ups are bad for the camera, the reason for this is the indicator of the minimum focus distance, here it is much larger in comparison with other budget counterparts. Therefore, to shoot any objects close up is still a hassle. At this point, one could turn a blind eye, if not for the many negative reviews from book lovers who need a gadget to shoot books, notes, instructions and other literature.

The quality of pictures in the dark leaves much to be desired, but this is the trouble of the entire budget segment, so it is difficult to write down this part in obvious disadvantages. The image is obtained with a lot of noise, and in order to get rid of them, you need to unscrew the noise reduction to the maximum, and this, in turn, is a loss in detail - in general, everything is bad.

Offline work

A clear advantage of the device is the battery capacity of 6080 mAh, in fact, this is where the name of the Oukitel gadget line itself came from. The production of lithium-polymer batteries for the brand is carried out by a fairly well-known company from the Middle Kingdom - SCUD Battery Co., Ltd, so you don’t have to worry about quality.

A quite appropriate addition to such a capacious battery was the Pump Express Plus fast charging technology from Mediatek. A smartphone with its help charges up to 100% from scratch in a little less than two hours, while with a conventional charger you will have to wait at least an hour more.

Benchmarks

The test results are encouraging: the device was far ahead, leaving behind even the venerable premium models of well-known brands. So with the autonomy of the smartphone, everything is in order, even despite the voracious Android platform.

Speaking specifically, in a mixed mode of use (call, sms, Internet, 50% screen brightness), the battery lasts for three days. Watching HD video at 75% brightness will drain your battery in 15 hours. With the maximum possible load with everything and everything turned on at 100% screen brightness, the device will last about 6-7 hours.

The results are excellent. A fairly average set of chipsets with moderate power consumption also played a significant role here. So the gadget can rightfully be called a long-lived smartphone. Finding such a representative in the budget segment is a great success.

Competitors

There are not so many analogues of our respondent. The closest in terms of quality content can be called Ulefone Power 2 (6050 mAh) and Blackview P2 (6000 mAh).

The former is almost identical to the K6000 Plus in terms of its technical characteristics. But it is very difficult to recommend it for purchase, because it has even fewer owners than the Okitel series. And this directly affects the support of gadgets, that is, you have to wait years for firmware updates, if you wait at all, as well as warranty repairs. And user reviews about the model are far from the most flattering.

But nothing bad can be said about the Blackview P2: the device turned out to be largely successful and pretty, and the only thing it is inferior to the K6000 Plus in is the Android version. Even the brand's latest models come with stock firmware on Android 6.0 OS, while Okitel has the seventh version of the platform. The manufacturer seems to be promising to transfer its gadgets to the "seven", but, as is often the case with the Chinese budget segment, we are waiting, but will we wait?

Summarizing

On the market of mobile gadgets, you can find smartphones that encourage their users with some unusual “chips”, aesthetic and thoughtful design, providing unusual solutions that are really interesting to deal with, and so on and so forth.

Model K6000 Plus can not be attributed to their number. The manufacturer positions the device as a workhorse, which, alas, is not able to please the owner with all the listed advantages, and does not seek to do so. Like it or not, but we have a budget device, and delights can be found in the premium and mid-price segment.

From the K6000 Plus, in fact, only one thing is required - long and stable operation, and the device copes with this with a bang. One of the main "applications for success" - excellent autonomy - is fully implemented and works at 100%. In addition, a set of chipsets is enough for lightning-fast operation of the interface and the launch of most modern gaming applications.

A mediocre and poorly calibrated matrix acts as a fly in the ointment, and perhaps an unsightly sound, but a good half of the models in the budget segment suffer from this misfortune, so there is no need to go over too much.

We get the following: if you want a smartphone "for the soul" - pass by, but if you need a moderately productive long-lived gadget without pretensions to the appearance with multimedia, as well as an enviable battery life, then the K6000 Plus will become your excellent assistant.

Model advantages:

  • excellent autonomy;
  • good set of chipsets;
  • support for all Russian communication protocols, including LTE;
  • Android 7.0 platform.

Flaws:

  • disgusting factory calibration of the display matrix;
  • poor sound (cacophony at maximum volume).

The estimated cost of the smartphone is about 11,000 rubles.

There were many new products at the exhibitions of early 2017, but one of the most striking was the continuation of the most popular Oukitel models - K6000 Pro and K10000. The new flagship of the Oukitel K6000 Plus company has become a competitor to the headliners of other companies - the same Xiaomi RedMi Note 4. High performance, branded components, good battery life - an excellent claim to leadership, as evidenced by thousands of pre-orders.

A year after the presentation of his hit, the manufacturer released a successor smartphone:. 6 GB RAM, latest processor and updated screen. A worthy continuation of the hit!

Appearance

The manufacturer did not demonstrate anything new in terms of design – a metal body with rounded edges, a screen with small frames, a solid rear panel with a central camera and flash. Under the screen there is one mechanical button (with a touch sensor) and two touch keys.

Small things surprise you positively. The screen is processed in 2.5D, smoothly moving into the body. The aluminum case fits perfectly in the hand and is pleasant to the touch. The edges of the metal elements are beautifully milled and give the impression of a high-tech device, the plastic in the case is only at the points where the antennas exit. It is pleasant to hold the phone in your hands, despite the rather large weight - no backlashes, attempts to slip out or make noise with the buttons.

The smartphone is offered in two colors - a gray body with a black front panel and a golden body with a white front panel. There are no alternatives, but along with the release of the model, a decent assortment of cases appeared.

Processor and video accelerator

The processor from MediaTek MT6750T is an “overclocked” eight-core variant with a Mali T860-MP2 video co-processor with two cores clocked at 680 MHz. The central processor has an interesting combination - 4 cores operate at a clock frequency of 1 GHz, at 4 - 1.5 GHz. The system can control the power of the processor to a large extent using MediaTek CorePilot technology.

Coupled with an excellent amount of memory, this chipset shows excellent results in all tests. Against the background of A-brands, the K6000 Plus looks average, but in real tasks there are no hints of lag or low FPS. It is clear that the capacity of the phone is excessive at the beginning-middle of 2017, but the model was designed for sale for several years.

Memory

The smartphone is not deprived of memory - neither operational nor permanent. 4 GB of RAM on the current Android 7 and a set of applications and games is almost impossible to fill, which gives a good margin for growth. 64 GB are allocated for file storage, of which 58 are available for file storage, the rest will be occupied by basic applications and the system.

The system supports the connection of SDHC/SDXC microSD cards, however, when connecting, you will have to sacrifice one of the SIM cards - the card tray in the phone is combined, and the case itself is not collapsible.

Screen

Oukitel does not deviate from the tradition of installing components from top manufacturers in flagships. The K6000 Plus has a screen from AU Optronics (formerly Acer Display), which occupies a fifth of the global display market. Modern LTPS-TFT technology gives a clear picture with a density of 403 pixels per inch, resolution - standard FullHD, 1920 × 1080 pixels.

The outer screen element is tempered Asahi Glass Dragontrail with an oleophobic coating, milled in 2.5D. The screen is not OGS, so if the phone falls, the glass can be repaired separately from the matrix.

Camera

Unlike Oukitel's budget models, the K6000 Plus doesn't have camera interpolation. Cameras from different manufacturers - 8MP front from Hynix and 16MP main from OmniVision. In addition to the camera - autofocus, HDR, face detection. The maximum video resolution is 1280× [email protected].

The modern system also works on the camera - the pictures are processed with high quality, HDR really improves the picture even in uncomfortable shooting conditions.

Connection

The smartphone fully supports Russian LTE, promising a nominal speed of 300 Mbps at the peak. Stably catches stations, does not lose connection even indoors. To match mobile communications and Wi-Fi - it catches well in remote rooms, in addition - the chip supports modern Wi-Fi Direct, Wi-Fi Display (Miracast) technologies - broadcasting data and screen, respectively, directly between devices.

Only the GPS module is responsible for navigation, GLONASS is not supported (initially there was information that GLONASS would be). However, satellites are caught quickly and there are no problems with navigation - the good performance of the chip and A-GPS as a support help.

OS and features

The phone initially ships with the latest Android 7.0 Nougat, and Oukitel makes few changes to the stock system. Several specialized widgets, modified standard icons and several branded applications. Among the applications are tools for screen recording, energy saving, backup. There were no hieroglyphs in the interface and no virus software in the phone. The launcher's Smart Assistance feature is an additional curtain on the side of the screen that is fully customizable by the user.

OTG in K6000 Plus works like other declared "proprietary" (for Chinese brands and Oukitel) functions - HotKnot, Miracast, GestureLock. Separately, it is worth highlighting the fingerprint sensor - it "moved" to the front of the case, under the screen.

Battery

One of the main features of a smartphone is the battery. Oukitel has not been seen cheating with battery capacity, and the claimed 6080 mAh is quite real, which has already been verified by tests. The battery manufacturer SCUD, a supplier of A-brands, has already been used by Oukitel in other top smartphones. The amount of power is enough for 10 hours of active use (video, games) or more than 40 hours of talk time. Manufacturing technology of LiPol (lithium polymer).

Fully run-in and available MediaTek PumpExpress Plus - High voltage fast charging technology, which uses its own 12V / 2A charger. Ordinary 5/1 charges will work, but you shouldn't count on the manufacturer's claimed "100 minutes from 0 to 100%".

Many are afraid of the fast charging feature - but it is not in vain provided by the CPU manufacturer - PumpExpress is charged by a complex controller that works with each battery "jar" in the battery, and the actual battery life is not reduced.

Equipment

In the Oukitel K6000 Plus configuration, the manufacturer remains true to himself - nothing more:

  • The now classic Oukitel orange box;
  • Telephone;
  • Silicone bumper;
  • Screen protector;
  • Charger 12V/2A;
  • MicroUSB cable;
  • OTG cable.
