Car holder for ipad 3. Holders for iPad, iPAd Air, iPad mini for a car with mounting in a CD slot, on a torpedo, on a headrest. PPYPLE products are made in Korea only

In stores, you can find a huge selection of accessories such as an iPad holder. They are not of the same type, but differ both in the fastening technology and in the method of installing the tablet itself. In this article, we will analyze a lot about the iPad and the car mount for different versions these devices.

One of the most common types of holders for iPad mini, iPad Air and other tablet models - when fastening is made to the CD slot for the car radio. These accessories are especially suitable for devices with big screen... Of course, you can use them for mini versions too. In general, these holders are universal and fit into any brand of machine. At the same time, the driver's iPad is always at hand.

Another popular model, PPYPLE, allows the tablet device to be no less securely attached to the car. It has many adjustment options, and you can always set a convenient angle of inclination of the display. This effect is achieved thanks to the ball joint connecting the tablet clip to the bottom of the holder.

Another model of the same series, with a Dash-NT attachment, is just perfect for Air tablets. It attaches to the torpedo thanks to a vacuum suction cup with a silicone layer. This material guarantees a strong adhesion to the plastic and protects the suction cup from air ingress.

The accessory will fit all generations of iPad. It is fixed between the paws with rubber pads, which have a bevel, and protect against unintentional pressing of the buttons.

If the task is to make life easier for rear passengers (especially if they are children), then an iPad holder can be placed on the front seat headrest. You can play media content on the tablet. While driving, children can enjoy watching cartoons.

It will be a simple and inexpensive solution, making it much easier to find yourself in traffic jams. And the latter, as you know, in megacities every year more and more. This type of attachment is fixed very simply - no knowledge and skills are needed. Moreover, no tools are required. A special lock is attached to the pin on which the headrest is located. Next, the selection of the desired notch is carried out - and you're done.

In addition to the usual options with mechanical fixation of the tablet, there are also magnetic holders. Instead of a clamp, a magnet is used there, and a metal plate is glued to the device. This method has the advantage that there is no need to move apart the mechanical elements of the accessory. But on the other hand, you will need to install a metal plate on the iPad.

One of the most famous firms for the production of such fasteners is Scosche. It produces different versions of magnetic type accessories. Each set comes with two records. The largest record is just right for a tablet. A variety of models of fasteners from this company are presented in many stores on the network. It is enough to enter the name of the company into a search engine, and you will see hundreds of offers.

Car Holders for iPad mini

For mini-version tablets, it is better to use special accessories designed specifically for them - PPYPLE CD-N7 and PPYPLE Dash-N7.

With the first model, the device is mounted in a CD-slot for a car. It is important that the holder will in no way interfere with the playback of music tracks. And the accessory itself is attached to the drive opening in the simplest way.

The second model allows you to mount the tablet on a torpedo. To this end, you just need to find the smoothest area on the instrument element. The accessory has a lot of adjustments, a ball-type hinge connecting the iPad clip and the holder body. This allows the tilt angle of the display to be adjusted over a wide range.

The manufacturer produces car holders for iPad in the car of all generations. They can be divided according to the size of the installed device:

  • for large iPad tablets, iPad 2, iPad 4, iPad Air: , CD-NT, HR-NT
  • for iPad mini : Dash-N7 and CD-N7 .

Also, they are divided according to the way they are installed in the car:

Car Holder for iPad 2, 4, Air, mini with car mount in CD slot:

Installing iPad in the car CD drive is a new trend. This method allows you to position the screen so that it does not interfere with the driver's view. You can listen to CDs while using it. Installing and removing the CD-slot mount takes only a few seconds. IPad holder is very comfortable, since the screen of the gadget is right at hand.

Two models produced iPad stands in the car in CD slot- CD-NT and for smaller tablets like iPad mini - CD-N7

Car bracket for iPad with torpedo mount:

Reliable installation on an iPad on a torpedo was made possible thanks to German technology, according to which the silicone cushion of the vacuum suction cup is made. This technology is based on filling all the pores of the plastic with silicone, thereby blocking the air access paths and breaking the vacuum. This mount can easily withstand heat, cold and even direct sunlight. To install the car holder, you need to find a place on the torpedo with flat plastic. It must be free from dirt and auto chemicals. The holder must never be installed on the airbags! A large number of adjustments allows you to set a convenient viewing angle of the screen.

There are two models of holders for the iPad in the car for the torpedo: for large tablets and Dash-N7 for iPad mini

Attaching an iPad to a carfront seat headrest:

The holder for the iPad in the car on the headrest is used to demonstrate movies on the screen to the passengers in the rear seat, making it easier to spend time on long trips. It is attached to the metal post of the front seat headrest using a clip and rubber gasket. This mount is very reliable and durable. With the help of the adjustments, you can set a comfortable viewing angle. One model available for tablet up to 12 '' - HR-NT

Car bracket clip for iPad:

A spring clip is used to fix the device in the holder. The CD-NT and HR-NT models use iPads with screens up to 12 inches diagonal. The height of the fully opened clamp is 190 mm. The Dash-N7 and CD-N7 models with grip heights up to 170 mm are suitable for the iPAd mini.

Additional information about the peculiarities of installation and operation of holders can be found in the FAQ section, or ask a question on the "Questions and Answers" tab on the product page.

Modern man and gadgets that perform various functions have been walking hand in hand in life for a long time. So, tablets and smartphones provide all possible assistance to the driver, acting as a navigator or brightening up the time spent in traffic jams. Passengers, especially if there are children among them, tablets will help to have a fun trip.

The only question that needs to be resolved first is to choose mounts and holders for tablets in the car. With a wide variety of choices on the market, you can easily find the car holder that suits your needs. The complete set and type of mount for the tablet in the car allows you to separate all the holders into several large groups.

  1. Pay attention to the set of holders with the ability to place the gadget in the most convenient place for you. For example, Vertex holders allow you to mount the mount on the glass by means of a round suction cup, which holds the device very tightly without showing any play, or arrange a mount on the headrest for the convenience of rear passengers.
  2. The original solution is a mount for an iPad or tablet in the form of a telescopic rod, which is attached between two headrests, allowing the gadget to move freely along it (eXtremestyle).
  3. The holder is mounted on the glass, but with a rigid placement of the device, for example, at the level of the multimedia system or in another place convenient for the driver on the dashboard. This type of holders can act not only as a mount for a navigator or phone, but even a netbook (LaZarr Net Holder).
  4. Telescopic bracket that attaches to the front passenger seat sled. This type of holder allows all people in the salon to use the gadget (Daystar DK-1).

The most convenient, of course, is to purchase holders that allow you to install the mount both on the torpedo for the driver and on the head restraints for rear passengers.

The tablet in the car usually has two main roles: the driver's assistant and the passenger entertainment center. In the first case, it serves as a navigator, news reader, and some manage to work a little more in traffic jams or surf the Internet. In this case, the tablet is placed next to the driver - on the windshield or above the center panel. True, when placed on the windshield, it blocks part of the view and collects the views of upstream neighbors from everywhere. And when it is above the center console, it usually closes access to the car's multimedia system, but does not interfere with the view, and it is no longer necessary to reach for it so far. There is one more method of fastening, which is devoid of all the aforementioned drawbacks, and which we will also talk about.

As for the role of the multimedia center for passengers, this topic is even more relevant. Those who have children and who have to be with them for a long time on the road will definitely approve of it. It will also appeal to ordinary travelers who have to spend several hours in the car.

In this review, we have tried six different types car mounts and holders for tablets, purchasing for this in Moscow online stores four sets different manufacturers... With their help, we will try to assess the convenience and practicality of this or that mounting method. A small urban SUV will act as a "tablet carrier". The tablets that will assist us are already well known to our reader: these are 8-inch Prestigio Multipad 4 Ultimate 8.0 3G (209 × 155 × 9 mm, 447 g) and 9-inch Pipo Max-7 Pro 3G (218 × 161 × 9 mm, 485 g). Actually, there is almost no difference between them in size and weight, and we will use Prestigio more often (especially for photography), since it is white and is better seen against the background of a black car interior.

So, we will start the story about the holders in no particular order, and for dessert we will leave the most "fancy" solution. Here full list individual models and kits:

Perhaps this is the most classic option among the ones we have selected. Vertex iTab 3 is not a holder, but a set of holders, which implies attaching the tablet both to the windshield, there and to the headrest of the front seats. If you consider such a set to be superfluous, then the options iTab and iTab 2 are at your service. In the first case, in the box, in addition to the cradle, you will find only a bracket for attaching to the windshield, and in the second - to the headrest. Accordingly, they will cost you less than our version of iTab 3.

On its website, the manufacturer claims that the Italian design bureau Alessandro Bellini helps him develop the design of the products. Did it put its hand to this device, we do not know, but we can say that the holder is made very neatly and tastefully. The cradle is equipped with a special rather firm pillow covered with leatherette. Adjustment of the position of the holding legs with soft rubberized edges is carried out by rearranging them into a set of grooves, where they are held firmly enough.

The powerful 90mm suction cup holds the entire structure very firmly. The clamping force can be controlled using the foot, which has several fixed positions. If necessary, the clamping force can be increased. The bracket has two adjustment units: a toothed one, which adjusts the angle of inclination near the suction cup, equipped with a convenient clamping foot, and a ball one near the cradle holder, equipped with a large fixing plastic nut. The ball adjustment mechanism has total travel angles of up to about 90 degrees (45 in each direction), which is sufficient. The design has no backlash and holds the tablet very securely.

The headrest mounting option is also quite simple and reliable. The bracket is equipped with plastic hooks, which have handles-nuts on the back of the strip, providing a tight hold. The bracket has two hinged gear mechanisms that can be used to adjust the position of the tablet in only two planes, that is, adjust its height relative to the passenger and distance from the seat back.

The hinge mechanisms also share a common clamping handle. The fastening is secure. There are no backlashes. The only drawback of this design is that it removes the tablet from the seat back by at least 10 centimeters, which may not be very convenient in a cramped car interior or when using child seats. However, in our case, we did not experience any inconvenience, but the length of the bracket was always set close to the minimum (in the photo above, it is in the position of almost maximum distance from the seat back).

But this whole set has one drawback - a very tight mechanism for attaching the cradle to the brackets. It is easy to fit the cradle, but to remove it later in order to rearrange it to another bracket - you need to make a fair amount of effort.

Advantages

  • Reliable fastening, no backlash
  • Sufficient adjustment ranges on both the windshield and the headrest
  • Solid appearance and workmanship

disadvantages

  • Very tight mechanism for attaching the cradle to the brackets

A very original and unexpected solution for back row passengers! The design principle is simple: a small telescopic bar with a tablet holder is attached between the two front seat headrests, after which the two rear riders can enjoy watching videos or surfing the web together. The holder can slide along the boom so that any of the rear passengers can move the tablet closer to them if necessary.

Characteristics table

The rod is made of aluminum alloy. The length of the two telescopic boom sections and the position of the cradle holder are fixed with clamps, like the telescopic legs of photo tripods. The bar itself has two deep grooves, as a result, the whole structure has no backlash, nothing scrolls, everything is fixed on it securely and neatly. The cradle holder has a ball joint that is clamped with a nut. The range of positions it sets is not very large (in any case, the bar will interfere) - it will allow you to rotate the cradle in two planes by about 15 degrees in each direction.

The cradle has a relatively soft center pad and two levers on the back for adjusting the position of the upper and lower legs, which also have rubberized attachments for holding the tablet.

Advantages

  • Original design
  • High-quality and reliable performance

disadvantages

  • Not found

Perhaps the most practical solution if the user of the tablet is the person sitting behind the wheel. The advantage is that, thanks to the long and flexible arm, the tablet can be placed on top of the center console without restricting visibility and not particularly attracting the prying eyes of upstream neighbors. And the main drawback is that everything that will be under the tablet will be difficult to access.

Characteristics table

* depends on the used attachment on the bracket

The relatively small size of the suction cup securely attaches the bracket to the windshield. The "leg" of the bracket is rigid, but it will not be difficult to give it the necessary shape. The cradle is quite massive. The side grips are spring loaded and operated by a lever on the lower left side. On the back of the cradle there are two small rubber feet, and they are there for a reason. The fact is that the rigidity of the structure is definitely not enough to prevent the cradle with the tablet from dangling not only during movement, but also from a simple touch of the screen. Therefore, he needs at least one more point of support. In our case, we positioned the structure so that the base of the cradle rests on the edge of the torpedo. In this position, he is no longer afraid of any turbulence, but other disadvantages of such an arrangement appeared.

The main one is that the tablet is forced to be located almost parallel to the plane of the center console. As a result, both the driver and the passenger look at the tablet screen from a large angle - with all the ensuing consequences. In addition, the area is usually well lit as it is close to the windshield.

Of course, it would be more correct to support the cradle not on the edge of the torpedo, but on the very rubber feet that are located below. But in our case it was somewhat difficult to do because of the screen head unit and its control buttons.

However, if the first type of attachment of the cradle to the bracket did not suit you for some reason, the kit includes a second attachment that holds the cradle not by the upper part, but by the center. The nozzle is equipped with a ball joint that allows you to rotate it at small angles.

In addition to tablets, as the manufacturer assures, this holder is also suitable for netbooks. We checked this statement on an old Acer Aspire One (screen - 10 inches, weight - 1 kg) and we can confirm it: when opened, the netbook is securely fixed in the cradle, and it is quite possible to use it. One "but": all side connectors of the netbook will be blocked by the side holders.

Advantages

  • Robust design
  • Thoughtful design
  • Ability to work with netbooks

disadvantages

  • To securely attach the cradle, you need to look for an additional support point on the torpedo or the center console of the car

So we got to the promised dessert. He can immediately be awarded the title of the most advanced solution for placing a tablet in a car.

Check out the official photo on the box! In AstonMartin with a beige leather interior, the holder looks very harmonious and not at all alien.

In the box you will find a complete set of two holders. The first is a three-knee bar that is attached to the front passenger seat sled with the same bolt that bolts the seat itself to the body. And the second holder is designed to be attached to the front seat headrest.

Characteristics table

So, with the installation of the main holder with a barbell, only one difficulty arose: the tip of the fork, which is attached to the front seat sled, had to be turned 180 degrees by loosening the mounting bolt. If this was not done, it would not have been possible to place the entire structure next to the central tunnel in the car due to the dimensions of the toothed joint.

Then the installation went almost like clockwork. The two knees of the boom, as well as the lug with the cradle lock, can be rotated. It is also easy to control the angles of inclination of the toothed joints, which are clamped by screws. As a result, the bar can be shaped into almost any desired shape. But here, too, we were in for a slight disappointment: it did not work to install the boom as in AstonMartin due to the fact that the central tunnel in the experimental car begins to expand towards the engine compartment (oh, they took the wrong car for the test), and the lower hinge allows you to adjust the position of the boom only in one plane. In other words, the first knee of the boom cannot be lowered down - it rests against the expanding central tunnel.

As a result, we had to assemble just such a "snake", which would have pretty much embarrassed the front passenger.

Further more. After fastening the cradle and placing the tablet on it, it became clear that every touch of the tablet with a finger makes it vibrate with an amplitude of 1-3 centimeters. In other words, the design is too shaky. An attempt to tighten all the nodal joints did not work, but after it the main culprit became visible - this is the fork, which is attached to the slide. And if the bar is fixed reliably and firmly enough, then the fork, made of soft metal, bends how much in vain, and it is she who is the source of vibrations for the entire structure. After dismantling, our version of soft metal was completely confirmed: the fork bent noticeably from tightening the mounting bolt. Yes. A truly Chinese approach (may the Chinese forgive the author, for whom he has the warmest feelings).

Update as of 02/04/2014: as the members of the forum quite rightly noted, in our case the fork had to be driven into the space between the floor and the slide. This would significantly increase the rigidity of the structure, however, you still cannot do without a second point of support for the bar. In other words, it was desirable to rest the barbell against, for example, a torpedo.
Another important addition concerns the barbell itself. It is very likely that the center knee can be removed, thereby reducing the space occupied by the bar and reducing the pressure lever on the fork.
Alas, at the moment we cannot check these two versions, but they can be useful to those who nevertheless decide to buy this holder.

But the second holder, which is attached to the headrest, we liked better. Firstly, there are no screws here, and the strap with the cradle holder is fastened with special fasteners. Secondly, the tablet installed in the cradle is close to the back of the seat, which is a plus in a small car interior. However, there is also a drawback here: the screw-retainer of the articulated joint has become difficult to access, since it almost "drowned" between the seat back and the headrest. But in general, the solution seemed to us quite practical.

Advantages

  • Original idea
  • Reliable and intelligent boom design
  • Quite presentable appearance
  • Convenient attachment to the headrest

disadvantages

  • Very soft metal of the fork attachment to the slide, which makes the whole structure extremely wobbly
  • Hard-to-reach clamp at the ball joint for attachment to the headrest

General impressions

Having got acquainted with six different variants of mounts for tablets, we can unequivocally say that we have no special complaints only about those intended for rear passengers. This is probably also because the tablet looks much more appropriate there. No, we do not mind if the driver has a large map or convenient Internet access at hand, but the design of the cabins modern cars somehow very strongly opposes this, therefore third party solutions also have their pros and cons.

We will not definitely recommend anything for the driver - let it be better for everyone to look at our description of this or that holder and draw their own conclusions. But we would advise you to treat the Daystar DK-1 with caution - at least until the manufacturer replaces the "plasticine" fork for attaching the rod to the front seat sled.
