This function, when enabled, in theory, should significantly improve the quality of the transmitted speech, but, unfortunately, it must be supported by the cellular operator. During its operation, the phone's power consumption in the talk mode slightly increases (about 5%). As far as we know, none of the Russian cellular operators support this feature. The principle is based on a different speech compression algorithm (ACELP) and occupies a wider bandwidth.
