Only the presence of the Wi-Fi logo gives out the main difference between this card and many other models. The card has a standard size of 32 x 24 x 2.1 mm and weighs about 2 grams. Also on the side there is a standard "Lock" switch to protect the card from deleting and writing files. There is no Wi-Fi switch.

It should be noted that the card does not support full-fledged operation, that is, the operation of the drive and the Wi-Fi module, not with all devices. In our case, the Nikon D5200 camera with which we tested the card was on the list of compatible ones, and the card worked correctly with it. We note right away that we turned off the power saving modes on the camera, as recommended by the manufacturer. A complete list of compatible devices is available on the Transcend website. Note that we also tested the card with Nikon D40 (not listed), but in this case Wi-Fi functionality was not available.

After installing the card in the camera, literally in a few seconds, the WIFISD wireless network becomes available, to connect to which you need to enter the password 12345678. After connecting to the network, the card parameters management and work with it are available through the "Wi-Fi SD" application, it can be installed from App Store, Google Play or Amazon Appstore. To set up, we used a smartphone on the Android platform, for work, we downloaded and installed an application from Google Play, in which we configured the connection.

The card offers two options for working with a wireless network: an access point and a wireless client. In the first mode, the card creates its own wireless network to which you can connect to access settings and data on the card. The wireless client mode will allow you to set up to three wireless networks (you need to specify the SSID and password), to which the card will connect itself, in this case, to access the data on the card, you will have to access through the existing wireless network.

Unfortunately, we were never able to use the Shoot & View function: after taking a picture, the smartphone lost access to the wireless network, in fact, the wireless network signal was completely lost.

In addition to the application, a Web interface is also available for configuration, you can connect to it at http://192.168.200.5/, if the card is operating in the access point mode, or at the address assigned by the DHCP server, if the card is operating in the client. By default, the username and password are admin / admin.

For testing, we used a test bench, where we carried out both tests of the card when connected to a card reader with a USB 3.0 interface, and when connected wirelessly.

The speed of copying over a wireless network can hardly please, for example, when copying data from a card, we managed to achieve a speed of 580 kb / s, which is quite a bit for conventional equipment, but not bad at all, in our opinion, for such a miniature memory card.

Of course, such a solution, combining a 32 GB drive and a wireless module in the SD-card format, deserves interest. Not bad speed indicators with traditional use of the card and the ability to work remotely with data on it will provide the device with good popularity.

Unfortunately, there are some flaws that can significantly spoil the experience of working with the card. Disconnections of the wireless module after taking a picture, which we encountered during the testing of the card, do not allow using the "Take and See" function, which allows us to examine the picture taken by the camera in detail on the screen of a smartphone or tablet. The presence of a wireless module will also negatively affect the battery life, so we do not recommend counting on a long battery life when using the standard camera battery. During operation, the card heats up quite a lot, and this is noticeable not only when the card is connected to the reader, but also when it is working inside the camera.
