Low fps was then attributed to poor optimization of games for MediaTek processors. Data leaks about the new Meizu Pro 7 make it clear that he must correct the shaken confidence in the manufacturer.
Release dates
According to available information, the presentation of the new flagship is scheduled for Meise on July 26, 2017. It will be held in the building of a new opera house located in the urban district of Zhuhai. Geographically, it is located between Hong Kong and Macau, closer to the latter. Photos of posters announcing the presentation indirectly confirm insider leaks that the Pro 7 has an additional screen on the rear panel.
It is expected that immediately after the presentation to the public, pre-order will open on the company's website. Estimated release date of the device in retail sales - 4 August. The timing of the appearance of new products outside of China is still unknown.
It is believed that the Meizu Pro 7 Plus version, with an enlarged screen diagonal, will also be presented at this event. The remaining characteristics of the device, despite the proximity of the release, are still reliably unknown.
Electronic stuffing
The accumulated leaks allow, with a high degree of confidence, to describe the technical characteristics of the novelty. It is known that the new flagship will receive the Helio X30 processor from MediaTek. In fact, this is the first ten-core SoC released on a 10nm process and designed for the mobile industry. The distribution of cores allows us to speak about the growth of the chip's performance in heavy applications: two Cortex A-53s are allocated for low loads, four for medium loads. Four ARM Cortex A-73s are designed for heavy workloads. The "quiet" part will be able to operate at a frequency of 1.9 GHz, and the "powerful" half - 2.5 GHz. Helio X30 supports up to 8GB LPDDR4 memory modules.
The graphics accelerator from Mali is replaced by a powerful PowerVR MT4, with 4 cores running at a clock frequency of 800 MHz. As a result, MediaTek promises a 2.4x increase in graphics processing performance with a 50% reduction in power consumption. Support for H.264 and H.265 video compression algorithms is announced, as well as support for 4K UHD screens with a resolution of up to 3840x2160 pixels. There is the possibility of working with two camera modules, with a resolution of 16 Mpx or one up to 28 Mpx.
Network capabilities guarantee operation in LTE networks with support for voice data transmission and Wi-Fi at frequencies of 2.4 + 5 GHz.
Autonomy will provide a battery with a capacity of 3000 to 3500 mAh. As in last year's version, QuickCharge support will be implemented and a USB-C charging cable will be used.
The appearance of models with combinations of RAM/permanent memory 4/64 and 6/128 Gb is most likely.
A detailed examination of competitor processors such as the SnapDragon 835 or Samsung Exinos 8895 shows that they outperform the X30 in heavy workloads and advanced networking. Perhaps this is one of the reasons why there was information about replacing the X30 in the Plus model with another solution.
Appearance
It is believed that one of the most anticipated new products in 2017 will receive an additional screen located behind the rear panel and occupying about a fifth of it. The technology used in its manufacture is the subject of controversy. It is not known whether it will be in color or will be able to reproduce only a black and white image, serving to display notifications.
The main display, the novelty should receive FullHD with a diagonal of 5.2”. It is expected to use AMOLED matrices with a density of at least 400 points. The front panel is protected by 2.5D GorillaGlass.
Plus version
Even more rumors are circulating about the Meizu Pro 7 Plus phablet, the release of which should coincide with the release of the main “seven” from Meizu. He will receive a 5.7 ”display, probably in UHD resolution. The use of 3D glass on the front means that at a dot density above 515 ppi, we will see a completely frameless smartphone.
Initially, it was assumed that both devices will receive equal characteristics and will differ only in screens, but the latest data refute this. New leaks talk about the possible use of Qualcomm's SoC in the new product.
The released smartphone can get RAM / permanent memory in the following configurations: 6/64 GB in the main model and 8/128 in the top one. Another possible combination is 6/128 and 8/256 GB.
Programs
The devices are expected to run Android 7.0 modified with the Flame shell. The performance of the used components will allow smartphones to use the features of the operating system, including such as multi-window mode. The presence of an embedded NFC chip indicates the possibility of using Andriod Pay technology or opening Meizu's own payment service based on contactless technology.
Price range
A preliminary assessment of the cost of components and production technology makes it possible to estimate the likely price corridor for the 7 Pro and 7 Plus models. The price will traditionally differ for devices in the basic and maximum configuration. Expected range:
