Business Insider editor Avery Hartmans has tested every iPhone on the market and ranked eight of Apple's smartphones.
If you want to buy an iPhone right now, then you have eight options to choose from. From the tiny yet powerful iPhone SE to the all-new futuristic iPhone X, the current lineup offers consumers a wealth of price and feature choices.
I have tested in action all eight models currently on the market. And despite the power and magnificence of the iPhone X, in my opinion, this is not the phone that most people should opt for. Here is my rating of modern iPhone models:
8. iPhone 6s Plus
The iPhone 6s Plus is one of the oldest Apple smartphones on the market right now and the worst choice for most buyers.
While the iPhone 6s Plus has a large 5.5-inch screen like the iPhone 7 Plus and iPhone 8 Plus, it lacks some of the features that make the Plus models so compelling, especially when it comes to the camera. The main drawback of the iPhone 6s Plus is that it does not have a dual camera, which means there is no “Portrait” mode.
The iPhone 6s Plus is exactly the same as the iPhone 6s except for the screen size and costs more. For the same price, you can buy a newer and more powerful iPhone 7.
Basically, there are only two reasons to buy an iPhone 6s Plus now:
- You can't forego the headphone jack;
- You are a fan of large smartphones, but you are ready to spend no more than 50 thousand rubles.

7. iPhone 6s
The iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus are now three years old. While these are still quite decent smartphones, there's no point in buying them unless you're an Apple fan on a tight budget.
Unlike the larger Plus model, the iPhone 6s is a more comfortable phone for most people. For me, for example, Plus smartphones are too big, and I'm always afraid to drop them.
Plus, the iPhone 6s is half the price of the iPhone X.
And the tastiest for lunch. This is the last standard-sized iPhone with a headphone jack.
However, the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus share the same drawbacks: a less powerful chip, a decent but not outstanding camera, and a lack of water resistance.

6. iPhone 8 Plus
Yes, the iPhone 8 Plus is brand new, but that doesn't make it the best choice. The model has some great new features - wireless charging, an A11 chip, more memory than previous smartphones, an excellent camera, but its price bites.
Unfortunately for the iPhone 8 Plus, it falls into the odd category of phones that are both new and yesterday. The iPhone X is more innovative, more advanced, and more stylish than the iPhone 8 Plus, but it doesn't cost much more.
The iPhone 8 Plus isn't going to come cheap, and you won't get the best on the market for your money. Either save on a more modest model, or get the iPhone X.

5. iPhone 8
All of the above applies to the iPhone 8, but it does have one advantage over the iPhone 8 Plus: size.
The iPhone 8 is a standard-sized smartphone, and its all-glass body fits nicely in your hand, although the screen is, of course, smaller than the iPhone X or iPhone 8 Plus.
If we talk about the disadvantages of the iPhone 8 compared to the iPhone 8 Plus, then it is necessary to mention the absence of a dual camera, but given the difference in price, most people can do without it.
Except for this, the iPhone 8 has all the same features as its older brother: fast charging, wireless charging, water resistance, excellent camera, A11 bionic chip and 64 GB of memory.

4. iPhone X
iPhone X is by far the best iPhone in the world. It's beautiful, high-tech, and has futuristic features like facial recognition.
However, it is incredibly expensive.
The iPhone X is not a smartphone for everyone. It's tricky to use, it doesn't have a simple fingerprint scanner, and the near bezel-less OLED display, while beautiful, isn't needed by the average user.
However, the iPhone X has the largest screen of all Apple smartphones. It has wireless charging, it can take amazing photos, and Apple's built-in TrueDepth camera allows you to recognize faces and work with augmented reality.
In addition, to be honest: the iPhone X is just a great design.

3.iPhone SE
The iPhone SE is the hidden gem of the iPhone lineup. It has the same size and design as the iPhone 5s but has the speedy hardware of the iPhone 6s.
The iPhone SE is definitely not the most feature-packed on this list, but it is the cheapest. And although this model is almost two years old, the iPhone SE remains an excellent smartphone for everyday use, which will suit most users.
The disadvantages of this model are the small screen (only 4 inches, compare this to the 5.8 inches of the iPhone X) and the lack of some modern gadgets, such as wireless charging and water resistance.
Despite this, the iPhone SE is the most affordable iPhone model.

2.iPhone 7
The iPhone 7 is over a year old, but it's still one of the best models on the market (and my personal choice due to the size).
Although the iPhone 8 is newer and more interesting, and the iPhone X is a total space, the iPhone 7 has almost all the features you need. It has almost the same camera as the iPhone 8, the same screen size, and it's waterproof.
There are only three major differences between the iPhone 7 and iPhone 8, aside from design: The iPhone 7 doesn't have wireless charging, it has less storage (32GB), and it uses last year's A10 chip inside.
The iPhone 7 comes in five colors instead of three like the iPhone 8, has an aluminum back instead of glass, and costs a lot less.

1. iPhone 7 Plus
The iPhone 7 Plus has it all. It has a built-in dual camera from Apple, that is, the Portrait mode is available. 5.5-inch screen, water resistant, and nearly the same battery capacity as the iPhone 8 Plus.
Aside from wireless charging and a slightly slower processor, the iPhone 7 Plus has almost the same hardware as the iPhone 8 Plus and costs less.
Basically, if you don't have much affection for the iPhone 8's glass body, the iPhone 7 Plus is the better choice.
The iPhone 7 Plus may be last year's model, but it's the perfect value for money.
